Wath are you taping the vidios with smile.gif ?

Its a program called Fraps, you can take videos and pictures ingame. The free version is quite limited but the full version (of which you have to pay turn.gif ) is very good.

First we will fix the bugs that members are reporting. We will try to get the cars stable after that.

What do you mean with the checkpoints? Teleport checkpoint? Other checkpoints? Look at the videos, they will explain a lot.

I found out what was wrong but theres another bug, im doin a mission called grand theft auto, when i do the 2nd checkpoint i do the text *goto the ship, watch out for security* when i complete the text, it crashes. sad.gif

That's indeed a bug, we are currently trying to fix it. Please report all of your crashes/bugs/etcetera in detail, so we can reproduce and fix it. If I didn't know about that bug, I couldn't reproduce it, because you gave to little information.

I had similar problems at the beginning, what i did to fix it is to remove other CLEO mods i have installed, hope that helps. biggrin.gif

I have something you might want to fix:

 

Several objects, such as the Shamal, Andromeda and a brown fence are not solid and you can walk/fall through them, but when you are creating the mission, (not playing, creating) the objects are solid.

I have a sugestion for the version when the actors will can drive a car.

Can make a countdown ? For a race mission ?

I say this because when a race mission is starting I need to prepare 2-3 seconds.

And another one:A feature for Sounds in Cutscenes like:Good Job Cj and another sounds

Exemple:When I will make a final cutscene 2 actors will chat and the "Good job Cj" will Play

Sorry but my English Sucks !

A countdown is a possibility, but I don't think we will add it to our next version. Our first priority in the next version is to stabilize the car-features.

IDEA: Maybe its possible to let your actor have a certain weapon after a cutscene

 

for example: *cutscene* man walks to a car, trunk opens *cutscene ends* and a sniper rifle with <set ammo ammount> rounds will be added to your weapon inventory!

 

make it also doable with other actors

 

make actors preform special action during a cutscene like taunt or do gang sings

 

i dont know about this one but if its not included please do it: Allow giving names to missions so you wont get confused while trying to load a mission, it will be easier if the names you give them will appear in the "load mission" menu.

I think all your wishes can already be created with the present functionality:

 

Weapon change after cutscene:

Define a teleport objective right after a cutscene objective, let the player spawn to a position close to the current one, with the same skin, but with the weapon you want. This has exactly the effect that you want.

 

Weapon change for other Actors:

After defining a cutscene objective and before adding the next objective: stand near the actor you want to change the weapon, and select "actor-> hide actor". Than at the same location: Actor->add actor, and add an actor with the same skin but with the weapon of your choice. For this to give a good effect, you have to give the first actor an "hold position" behavior.

The effect is that after the cutscene, the initial actor will disappear and at the same time the new actor will spawn at the same location with the new weapon.

 

Perform special actions during a cutscene:

The best strategy is, to spawn special actors only for the cutscene, and give them the wanted animations, and hide them directly after the cutscene. This way you will also be able to create the illusion of the player actor performing animations. Just create a temporary "stand-in" actor with the same skin as your player and let him perform the animations during the cutscene. (off course you must make sure that the real player actor is not visible in the cutscene shot)

 

Giving names to missions:

in the DYOM-menu: Settings->missionname

i wish that in next version, actor can be marked at the map, player health can become 250, and add some feature that can add multiple actor. so we choose actor type,accuracy, model, animation,etc... then we just press y to create actor there...

Do you have CLEO installed? Are you shure you installed right? Did you follow the instructions step by step? How did it crash?

Nice mod, smile.gif i'm also working on a Mission Pack, The Claude Speed Stories (ya i know claude its a bit ''Old'' and there are allready many people which make videos,missions etc.. about him, but hey, i didnt had another idea xD turn.gif

 

I hope some bugs get fixed soon tough, like the Cutscene in the interiors bug, or the Limit of checkpoints in an Interior sigh.gif

On the reporting of crashes:

There are three mayor types of crashes:

  1. Crashes that occur as soon as you start SA/DYOM.
  2. Crashes that occur during designing a mission.
  3. Crashes that occur during playing a mission.
I'll try to describe shortly what is the best way to handle them:

Crashes that occur as soon as you start SA/DYOM

These are almost always related to incorrect CLEO3 installation.

- CLEO3 is not installled at all.

- CLEO3 is improperly installed.

- The .exe you have is not compatible with CLEO3 ( see here for a link to a compatible version).

 

Crashes that occur during designing a mission.

- Do you have other mods installed, that might conflict with DYOM?

- Try to disable CLEO scripts that are active.

- Report the problem in this thread, with as much detail about the moment the crash occurs. What was the state of your mission, and at exactly what moment did it crash? Be as detailed as possible, so instead of reporting that it crashes while adding an actor, it is even better to report that the crash occured right after you pressed <space> while selecting a RPG as the weapon for an actor.

- if possible include scmlog.txt in your report, if you have the scmlog CLEO plug-in installed. (recommended)

 

Crashes that occur during playing a mission

- Report the problem in this thread, provide a link to the mission-file that you played, and try to describe as accurate as possible the circumstances of the crash.

- if possible include scmlog.txt in your report, if you have the scmlog CLEO plugin installed. (recommended)

 

We want DYOM to be crash free, and will always try to fix any problems. But we can only fix problems if we can reproduce the problem or if the description of the problem is good enough. This will enable us to get a clue about the location of the bug in our code and we don't have to search in all the 15.000+ lines of scm-code that we have written sofar for this mod.
