Chargr
Is anyone experiencing freezing problems when entering Youtube? Or Firefox crashing a lot? Had this problem for about 2 weeks now.
XMike
What version of Firefox are you running? I haven't noticed any crashing whatsoever while browsing YouTube. I'm using version 3.0.4. Anyway, reinstall your flash plugin. http://get.adobe.com/flashplayer/
Edmachine
Yeah, me too! I even updated to 3.0.4, but it didn't do anything. It doesn't happen when using other flash things. I guess YouTube is 'over-flashed' . I think it's more YouTube's fault than Firefox's. EDIT: Updating the Flash Player seems to have fixed the issue . Thanks! Chargr
I've reinstall Flash over and over again, and the problem remains. I have the latest update on Firefox. It freezes for about 20 seconds after every 2 videos.
Jim
If reinstalling Flash didn't solve the issue, it could be something taking up CPU. Open up task manager (Alt-Ctrl-Del), go to processes, press the category 'CPU' to order everything by the amount of CPU usage, start a video and watch to see if anything jumps the amount of usage. This would make your videos freeze because Flash needs a bit of CPU power as well, and if it doesn't have that power, it'll freeze momentarily. Chargr
Why would it happen suddenly?
Jim
It could be because of a recently installed application, a virus, other activity done by other applications; there are a lot of reasons why it could be happening all of a sudden.
Drag_Drift
I've had similar problems before with firefox 2. When the video freezes, right click the taskbar button of firefox. It should "wake" the page. It also works with youtube freezes in Google Chrome.
