This article is good and speaks the truth. All of our biggest fear is to test the game on december 2nd and to find a sh*tty online mixed with a obfuscated game. Drag_Drift
No amount of Mod-shielding is going to work. What have they got? a few hundred programmers? What chance has R* got against the hundreds of thousands of brilliant minds that opened and explored GTAIII, GTAVC and GTASA, modded it and shared it with the world? Killuminati91
they WONT give us the tools. Simply for the fact that they want to sell other GTAs with the same engine in the future.

What chance has R* got against the hundreds of thousands of brilliant minds that opened and explored GTAIII, GTAVC and GTASA, modded it and shared it with the world? They could easily make it un-moddable, or extreamly hard to. Though Rockstar know why SA is still being played on PC's today so I doubt they will stop it. Though they won't aid it with the likes of an SDK.

We will just make our own anyway, same as before. It is getting modded, not if but when is the question.
camdean
I thought this was interesting, a bit old so I hope this isn't a double post. Skape Clicky Me Long Time This is definately good info, and I really can't wait to see what mods we see, I hope the SAMP guys make a similair mod like the one that let you buy stuff, cruise around and fight for building etc .. That was awesome
TruXter
I hope the samp group and mta group get together on this game. mta has always rock.... cept the mta sa flop. Would rock to see a joint start then a split once it gets going.
themerchant8
They could easily make it un-moddable, or extreamly hard to. === 1:Apparently they can't. If they could make files un modifiable they would have used their powers to stop cracked .exes and .dlls a long time ago to prevent piracy. -- 2:GTA 4 has already been modded on the consoles. A closed-source platform. Rockstar's own territory. --- 3:http://www.rockstargames.com/sanandreas/pc/ Check the features. ROCKSTAR LIKES MODDERS. mkey82
1. They probably they can't stop it, but they can make it a pain in the bu to crack2 2. Console versions weren't expected to be modded. Hence, the possible "protections" PC version might face wasn't present. 3. I do hope so
nitro_hedgehog
where the STEAM versions made moddable? because i don't feel like waiting for newegg to ship it on friday.
vachon644
where the STEAM versions made moddable? because i don't feel like waiting for newegg to ship it on friday. The Steam version is identical to a non-steam version. Just select : "Do not update automatically. ". I think theres a legal NOCD with steam or steam acts like a CD. I know some SAMP players were using steam.

vachon644
I hope it will be moddable, I have several cars just waiting for GTA4 What you mean, I doubt the community will do much cars. Euphoria involved, I don't think it'll be as easy as SA. Also, IV's models are well done and silly modders do sh*tty cars with bright colors and bad polygons. I hate it. downforce3d
I don't care for cars made by other people, I want to do my own cars. Making cars is not a problem, only problem would be importing everything and making it work.

DeeperRed
They can make them extreamly hard to mod by encrypting all the files and locking them. Seriously by the time somebody cracks thoses the next GTA will already be out! Its been done before by the way. The Movies Stunts and Effects Digital download from best buy was so encryptd nobody could do anything, the reason for this was because Bestbuy offered a 15 day money back offer if you didn;t like the game so they made it virtually impossible to mod or clone files. Luckly the normal version of the game was easily moadable

I don't know where you read that but from what I can see Euphoria only deals with animating 3D characters motions, they mention specifically that Euphoria is not a Physics engine which is what I consider a damage system like the one in GTA IV. It may be Digital Molecular Matter that does the damage, a system developed by Pixelux but again its not mentioned on the game box or anywhere in the credits so I am sure you will find its something built into RAGE perhaps. RAGE is the one responsible with the Car chassis and body deformation. Remember the demo about the clothing on people scrunching and folding in Rockstar Presents: Table Tennis? it's the same physics architecture. It rolls along with Euphoria. RAGE computes the inanimate object, global physics, orthodox computations and others, and Euphoria computes ragdoll and human behaviour events.
