Should know kung fu (at least move faster than Niko) but shoot like a professional hitman. Should have a military background, maybe ex-Special Forces. Little William Posted March 11, 2009 Share Posted March 11, 2009 This is the profile I made up for the protagonist of the next Vice City: Name: Gabriel Guan (Guan Yun Long) Born in: Hunan Province, China Profile: Born in the tough neighbourhood, his parents did not want Gabriel to join the local gangs to be involved in crimes. So they send him a martial arts college near the Shaolin Temple where he has a education and martial arts training. Gabriel has a knack for languages. At school, he learn all the Chinese dialects from his classmates, who came from different parts of China, and spoke it like a native. Especially Cantonese, which most Chinese found it very hard to learn. But his school life is not easy. His martial arts master treats all his students like sh*t, training them until they drop. This develop Gabriel's mental toughness. After graduation, he joined the People's Liberation Army. He breeze through boot camp, and graduated with honors. Major Peng, under the Special Forces Command, pick him to join the Special Forces selection camp. Gabriel survives the selection process and become a Special Forces soldier. From there, Major Peng choose him to join the Xichang unit, which involves in black ops overseas, such as assassination, sabotage and reconaissance. For five years, Gabriel worked under this unit. He is fluent in six foreign languages (English, Spanish, French, Italian, Russian and Dutch) due to his training in the unit. Five years later, the activities of his unit has been brought to light by the Chinese media. His commander, Major Peng, in order to save his job, disbanded the unit and left its members out in the cold. Some of the unit members, like Gabriel, have to resort to crime to survive. Gabriel work for a powerful gang lord based in Shanghai. Because of Gabriel's experience and training, the crime lord send Gabriel overseas to deal with his international connections. Drugs, human and weapons smuggling and assassinations are usually the Gabriel's normal schedule. But as 10 years has passed, Gabriel is tired of the deeds that he has to do for his boss. So he planned to do one last job for his boss and then disappear for good. His boss says there is a big load of heroin he is interested to buy from the Triads based in Liberty City (the same one that Niko stole from the Triads). His boss needs the drugs,for the Chinese authorities are clamping down on his operations and he is desperate. Apparently the deal did not go through and the LCPD also had a sting on the deal, in co-operation with the Chinese Interpol. Gabriel escapes capture but his boss thinks that Gabriel is the rat and put out a contract to kill Gabriel and his family. Gabriel managed to save his parents but his sister, his brother-in-law and his baby niece was savagely murdered by his boss' killers. Vowing revenge, Gabriel searches for his old boss and found out that he has fled to Vice City, hoping to rebuild his empire. So Gabriel sets out for Vice City. John The Grudge Posted March 11, 2009 Share Posted March 11, 2009 I often wondered why they never put the main character as a Scottish person (R* are originally from Scotland), I would be all for an English gangster, Welsh or Irish (although Irish has been covered recently). I'm not sure a Scottish main character would really fit the series. R* North have put in plenty of nods to Scotland in the games though (as your sig alludes to). I wouldn't mind a game set in London but I think America is the setting where GTA belongs. I really think Los Santos should be the next location. But this time really explore organized crime, and have a character that can rise in rank(ex:associate,soldier,lieutenant,enforcer,underboss,boss) within an ethnic criminal group.(russian or irish/irish-italian)Not like the 3 Gtas' were you become a leader,(sa,vc,vcs) and there's no "rise through the ranks,"and in the case of vcs,the members that your leading just about make no sense.(in terms of criminal groups in reality.ex:Vic Vance=dominican/white leading a criminal group of white red necks vs.Vic leading dominicans/other latino group?)
