It's safe to assume it has thought, only couple of days 'till release and most european post offices don't do shipments during weekends (or so I've heard). Maybe this time Rockstar changes their PC patch policy and actually makes more than one patch for a GTA game. The console versions got to 1.04(PS3) and 1.01(X360). I predict maybe a 1.01 for PC LOL 2009 will be the year of everything GTA IV PC. That is 3,5 years after GTASA PC which came in mid-2005. In the meantime the PC version of GTASA got millions of mods, two multiplayer mods, one of which is going open-source now, AND GTASA is STILL in the top 20 most popular downloads on "that famous downloading site". That just shows the popularity of GTASA PC. If Rockstar werent lazy in 2005 and actually made an official multiplayer for GTASA PC, maybe they would get more sales in. Seriously: The topic starter wanted to know has GTA IV gone "Gold" Going gold means that the 1.00 version of the game is finished and the game can start printing itself in the DVD printing facilities. CJ_Vercetti Posted November 27, 2008 Share Posted November 27, 2008 I mean, this close to the release, it must have gone gold 10 days ago... think of all the logistics stuff they have to do to release it, printing CD booklets, covers, printing CDs and then distributing it to the retailers (I think they'll do it by monday), and I remember that some people got their console version delivered 1-2 days earlier than official release date, so the question is, when will it become platinum... And also I received mail from pre-order site to confirm I want to buy it and pay the money through bank account. And they send mails 5 days before the sending date. S1LV3R_W0LF Posted November 27, 2008 Share Posted November 27, 2008 Well I don't know about all this ... but since PC version works since January of this year, way before the console release, they have been fixing the issues of the game, maybe some hard work day and night, so with all this and the hype they are seeing all over the internet and the pre-orders, they decided they needed 2 more weeks to make more copies available. I wish we brake the Guinness Book record made by the consoles few months ago, that would be insane. The game has to be GOLD long time by now, we get that info for some games usually, but since GTA IV PC is so short on news I think that is perfectly normal. And I think the delay was about the number of copies, because I'm from Portugal (Europe) and even if the release date for Europe is December 3rd all the websites I went to buy the game says 5 December ...
