Its easy to kill a rockstar developer. Just go to R* studios and blow up the building. Im sure youll get some multiple bonus for killing not just 1.

xD im joking, im not a terrorist.

But seriously, should we be talking about Achievements allready? The game isnt even out yet.

I already have 40 of the 50 achievements on Xbox 360, they are the same ones as on PC.

If you have a Live account you can check em all out here. If not you can look on mygamercard but you wont be able to see the achievement list.

I got the kill a rockstar developer one. But after I got it, it changed to Kill a rockstar in multiplayer...that could have a different meaning, like a Rockstar ranked player.

I don't know about this. I mean I played Fallout 3 and randomly it would go BING "you unlocked the thumb up you butt achievement here is 25g" or whatever. I ended up logging it off of LIVE. I just find achievements ...kind of... lame. I mean a game should be good enough on it's own without need extra poo tacked on to convince you to keep playing. Just my opinion I guess.

Agreed, but they put it in for the console peeps who always gotta get medals for stuff youre supposed to do in a game anyway

The worst thing is, that other people look at your account and say "ooh, your such a bad player, you dont have any achievement unlocked, come back when youve got 1000 achievements unlocked like i do".

So in your opinion.. games shouldn't include an extra optional incentive to play again or do things you wouldn't if they didn't exist?

..just because for some strangle reason you dislike them enough to complain about these optional extras.

No, the Achievement is viral, so if you kill someone who killed a R* developer, you'll get the achievement. And so on and so forth.

The QUB3D one is quite difficult though.

Yeah xrk, I think it is stupid to give people a reason to come back and play again. Games should be good enough to make you comeback over and over an their own merits, not some gimmicky grade 3 gold star. I mean I have played through Fallout 1 and 2 at least 6 or 7 times each. I know the game inside and out, but it was good enough for me to want to do it. Before you yell at me becuase that is an rpg, I did the same thing with Doom, Doom 2, Doom 3, Hl 1 and 2, San Andreas even.

I understand what you're trying to say I just dont think achievements play that much of a part in the designing of a game.

You're getting the same game you would have but with these

achievements as extras.. its a good thing imo

I'm pretty excited to try some of the achievements!

I like to think of the acheivements in the same way as hidden packages... although, you know where they are... its just hard to get to them...

the achievemets is just a nice little addition for the people who want some extra things to do as they get further through the game!

I dont want to just keep on going through the same missions every time I complete the game...

Sort of related to acheivements (well, better than opening a new topic) - when registering for the Windows live, and logging in to GfWL, I get re-routed to the xbox-live website, with my gamertag - is that supposed to happen?

I would like to hack into the game files and remove the pop up textrue for the achievments, and remove the sound too. I think it is just so annoying.

All you need to do to avoid the pop up and sound is not sign into windows. It will be perfectly possible to play the game without achievements if that is your wish.

  • 2 weeks later...

I'm having a problem with the achievement Under the Radar. I've flown under the 14 bridges, on the game stats it shows Number of bridges flown under: 14 but on Games for Windows Live the achievement isn't activated. I've even replicated and flown again under all 14 bridges but no luck.
