Devils Dog
Hi, What do you think I could easily overclock my CPU Intel E2220 2.4ghz Dual Core to ? Also would I be able to overclook my graphic card Nvidia 8600GT ?
Drag_Drift
You can overclock the CPU by changing the BIOS settings. Just press Delete when your PC is starting up. For overclocking nVidia cards, I suggest the RivaTuner. CPU Overclocking tut Manually overclocking a Video Card How to use RivaTuner Yes, I know. It's long. But what the heck. Do it for the performance.
Cojage
Yeah i have a C2D E4500 and apperantly it can be overclocked with the default cooler a lot, but im not an expert and i never overclocked anything. Any advice or tutorial to what to keep in mind and lookout for? Also, i have also a 8600GT, but the xxx edition by XFX which means XFX factory overclocked it and probably put a better cooler on it(its very loud, louder than any videocard i've heard). But could it be even more overclocked?
Jim
I would definitely check out the tutorial Drag_Drift posted for you before you even think about messing with the clock settings in the BIOS. You should know a little bit about what you're doing before you mess with settings like that. For overclocking NVIDIA GPUs, I recommend nTune. I use it and it works fine for me. It also gives you a lot of information about how your hardware is running and has tests to make sure your hardware is running up to par. This includes CPU performance as well. Overclocking with nTune is very easy, and is probably the way to go since it's made by NVIDIA.
jelly
If you think Rivatuner is a bit too confusing/complex and you just want the overclocking options you could try EVGA Precision. It's basically the same application (by the same guy), but trimmed down to include only the OC, fan and temperature options, with a simple GUI.
