I heard about these attacks but I haven't been following it too closely. 127 dead, 327 injured from what I hear. The situation still hasn't calmed down. 10 Israelis are being held at Nariman house. The NSG commandos airdropped from helicopters onto the roof of the house and opened fire this morning. There are still 2-3 terrorists holed up inside. I doubt they'd go into an operation like this without putting much thought into it. That being said, I'm surprised to hear that this sh*t is still going on. If a fight isn't over within 24 hours, you're doing something horribly wrong, and it might be time to actually train your people for things like 'pulling triggers', 'aiming' and the ever important 'tactics'. The government has shut them down temporarily because all that they were doing was just spreading more fear amongst people. @Guybrush: The NSG commandos are trained for it and that's one of the prime reasons why the hostages could be rescued. The army weren't trained enough to handle a hostage crisis. The problem is that the terrorists could be anywhere but the army cannot. Currently, the area of concentration is the urban parts of Mumbai. If someone was to blast a suburban area (where I live), we would be back to square one. Although the chances of that happening are remote since security has been beefed up everywhere but I really can't predict what's going to happen and when. That's the point, whether the terrorists blast an area or the army, there'll be casualties anyways. While I don't subscribe to any one faith, i see a lot of beauty and truth in the unaltered text of all faiths. People take things out of context to reinforce what they want, that's the problem. The religions are fine, there are plenty of happy, peaceful muslims just as there are jews, christians and hindus who don't over think a good thing. Actually, we don't know more. We THINK we know more, but really all logic is at it's root based on a single assumption, and what if that assumption was wrong? If you think I'm full of it, look up Kurt Godel. He's most likely the greatest mathematician/logician that ever lived and he basically disproved logic as we understand it. Science and philosophy, religion and reason can all coexist because they are all methods of trying to understand the intangible. Since none of these methods have proven themselves 100% true, I think it's a little big-headed to start writing things off. One generation passes over religion by introducing it to its offspring then its offspring grows and passes it over again. over and over again.
