FiliGTAFan
Hasn't that GTA SAS thing in HMV been there for a long time, since June 2007? If you read the description, it says that they have no information about the game at this stage. we'll get in touch with you the second that the game is available to pre-order. If it ever does come out, that is. Those videos of the fan made trailers are from a long time a go as well so this is all very old.

Well ive just placed my order and its come in at £19.99 and it does say order confirmed. HMV are a very reputable business they wouldnt put that up there if there was a chance of the game not ever comming out. Besides they announced and developed the previous gta lcs and vcs pretty fast and relased them quickly. My orders in so im happy

If its for the PSP, then I should get this game! And because of the fact that they also have a page for the PSP release, I know this is total bullsh*t. Hooperuk2008
But why would a reputable business advertise it like that knowing what they would risk. They wouldnt put it on there unless they knew it was comming out.
GTA3Freak-2001
Retailers are known to make mistakes, just because a product is listed does not always entail that it exists epsecially in regards to a video game that otherwise isn't mentioned in anything but fan related sources. Just look at the PSP entry for the game, it lists in its description that the developer has said nothing about the game and that HMV will contact you if it ever comes out, if at all. Ryan
I wouldn't be surprised if it was just some kind of advertisement to get more people to their site. There has been lots of speculation about the game and it would be easy to see why they added the game on there. As for San An Andreas Stories, in the past when Rockstar was asked about it, they confirmed that they had NO intentions of making the game so I can't see why they would start to make it now. GamerShotgun
If you type in San Andreas Stories in google, and this site comes up, then you should understand why it's there... They want more people to visit their crappy page.
WingedWarrior
I remember someone posting an image of a monthy update or something. The person had some shares invested into Rockstar and in the letter, it mentioned they discontinued the Stories series.

the nameless
I don't know why this has picked up recently, that page has user comments from june. I am sad to say, they don't look that interested in carrying on the old series, especially now that the emotion chip that enables ps2 play on ps3 has been phased out. They probably know that there money is going to come from ps3/360 sales, spending time, effort and reources on a ps2/psp game doesn't make much sense. However, to the guys with non uk flags under thier name, I don't know how big HMV is abroad, but in the uk, HMV (His Masters Voice) is one of the 2 MAJOR entertainment (DVD's CD's, books etc) retailers. It's only real rival is Zavvi (formerly Virgin megastore). So this is not a ploy from a small fry dvd shop, I imagine this to be a something they put up with genuine expectations of SAS, and allowing people to get in early - don't know why they haven't dissabled it though. kerouac.
It kind of bothers me when they do this, it's pretty much free money for Rockstar. In my opinion they don't update the games nearly enough to justify selling them as new. Throw in some new cut scenes here, re skin the characters there but at the end of the day it's the same game with a few uninspired add-ons. I think if they actually released this it would be condescending to a lot of fans at this point, especially now that they've released IV. They already pushed the boundaries of the PS2's capabilities with GTA SA, what more could they really do with it on an old platform? I wish Rockstar would put their muscles behind really wowing their audiences. When you look at III, VC and San Andreas (and I love them all dearly) under the shadow of IV it's for the most part; same sh*t, different city. Definitely fake. http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=366120 Yup that's the one. What makes you think it's fake though? The numerous spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes, the Rockstar Vienna logo (They closed down in 2006), there's no mention of Take 2 anywhere, and Rockstar Games' head office is in New York City, not San Diego. It has to be fake.
GTASIX
Even HMV are taking pre orders. It wouldn't be the first time HMV had made a mistake. They once had MGS 4 for the 360. I hope it is true though, Id have to buy it. EDIT - im already feeling the hype And it might not even be real. Algonquin Assassin
With each passing day it's becoming less likely there'll be a SAS. I would've liked it, but lets be real. If R* had plans to make it we would've got it by now. I would much rather them concerntrate on the next installment relevent to IV, instead of them going back to inferior technology. SA was almost perfect. There's really nothing that needs expanding upon. Edited December 3, 2008 by Miamivicecity
