A Frog's Spring

 

Here's some little fable I've written, a bit childish, but as long as you stay open minded and not too serious, it's a bit fun. You've been warned Oxidizer, it's...odd...

One fine evening, in the most gorgeous of ponds lived the frogs. Some of them were brightly colored. Others? Less fortunate. The arrival of spring brought bloom and vivacity to the pond. Though, the long winter prior left some work to be done.

 

A frog named Mrs. Hildebrand asked, “Would you care to clean up the house with me? I need yard work done, too.”

 

Her husband, Mr. Hildebrand, hurriedly leaped away. “No…uh…I’m…eh…going fishing or whatever,” he said as he became more distant.

 

Anyways, Mr. Hildebrand was joining up with his friends, Mr. Licks-N-Leaps-A-Lot, Bug-Eyed Lilly-Hopper, Sir Likes-To-Shake-Dat-Tadpole, and Pete, for a night on the town. They planned to party like a frogstar until the break of dawn. First, they would get a few drinks and meet enough ladies to have their own PlayFrog Mansion, just like Toad Tephner.

 

It is the night they had always dreamed about. It was just like those rap videos where they do everything in slow motion. This night would be full of electricity. They are putting the “amp” back in “amphibians.” They are the hit of the pond. They are the…

 

“So where is Pete?” asked Tadpole-shaker after a long sigh. All three of them sat staring into nothing.

 

“Yeah, where is he?”

 

“I don’t know where he is,” Mr. Hildebrand said just as Pete hopped in.

 

“Hi guys,” Pete said.

 

“Whoa! Did you stick your head in mud?”

 

“Why?” Pete asked.

 

“Because your face is just ugh.”

 

“It’ll go away.”

 

“Oh, I’m sorry. I didn’t know they were hiring actors for The Thing. Ha ha!” Tad-pole-shaker jeered.

 

“Yeah, watch out; his face will attack you!” added Mr. Hildebrand.

 

“Yeah. You look…uh…weird,” Lilly-Hopper interrupted.

 

“Dude, you’re killing our mojo.”

 

Right after the brutal verbal attack by his own friends, Pete leaped away, head hung low, as his friends laughed and laughed. Then, a couple of days later, Mrs. Hildebrand was watching the news. Her husband finally arrived home to a tired wife. She was in tears.

 

“Did you hear? Pete is dead!” she cried. “He overdosed on drugs; he licked too many frogs. Was he depressed? Do you know what happened?”

 

Mr. Hildebrand shrugged his shoulders. Just as he hurried to watch the Washington Redlizards game, she yelled, “Hey, where were you anyways?”

 

“Um…bowling?” he asked in a sly attempt.

 

“You mean fishing?”

 

“Uh-oh.”

 

One fine evening, in the most gorgeous of ponds, lived the frogs. Some enjoyed the bright sun. Others? Less fortunate. Mr. Hildebrand washed and scrubbed and cleaned the house as Mrs. Hildebrand sat back and watched Opra.

 

Moral: Always tell the truth. That way, you don’t have to remember what you said.

Yeah, that was different, but I f*cking dug it.

 

I love the moral of the story too, which is so awfully true. More importantly, I love the story as a whole; poor little slimey Pete though, why'd he have to kill himself? I could've kept him as my pet!

 

But wow. Nice work Jones.

A long, long time ago I mentioned a gangster-esque story. I've managed to finally get some plot and such formulated. My only obsticule is my "co-producer" who isn't doing his share of the writing. I'm doing most of the writing, he's just adding some ideas. As of now, I've begun the first chapter. Any work with action or the story haven't grown in this, but it's something.

 

I'll post it sometime soon...
