BAMJ6
And someone offered me good money for it. Thing is he has a 7950 GT KO and i only have the stock clocked one. Will it work out ok even though his card is slightly oc'ed by the maker
SyphonPayne
Yes it will work. The OC'ed card will just drop the clocks to match the standard 7950GT.
BAMJ6
Thanks. He can also oc the stock card to match his KO card if the buyer wants It's both EVGA and it's both 7950GT
SyphonPayne
Card brand does not matter, nor does the clock of one or the other. All that matters is that they are both the same model. As previously mentioned, if one card has a higher clock than the other, the higher-clocked card will just downclock to the lower-clocked card's speed. Yes he can always just OC the standard to the factory OC'ed specs and there shouldn't be a problem unless that card can't handle those clocks. Chances are it can though because usually factory OC'ed cards aren't really overclocked that much to where it's impossible for the standard to reach those speeds. The only exceptions are the super-high factory-OC'ed (SSC and above) ones, then there may be an issue getting a standard card to those speeds, because generally the manufacturer chooses to OC the cards that can handle it, and if there is a card that can't handle a super-high OC, they'll either drop the clocks to a mild OC or even just sell it as the standard version.
