Lost all my game saves on xbox 360...

I brought my xbox 360 hard drive over to my friend's house so I could use my live account on his xbox. Unfortunately, somehow I lost all my game saves in GTA and some other games, but not all my games. My question is is there any way I can retrieve my content? I see that my online rank and achievements are still there, but not the 30 hours I put into the single player (and I still never finished the game and would not look forward to doing it again). Is there any way you guys know of of retrieving game saves or somehow getting the game to load on the mission I was on before? Thanks!

I’m not 100% as I’m not a 360 owner but I’m pretty sure that unless you backed up your save some where or some how that all that you have done previously has been lost. The social club normally takes a day (give or take) to update your online stats to those matching your current game status so that’s probably why it still lists your achievements.

Naw, the achievements are linked to my gamertag, which is still working and saved on the internet, but the game progress itself is gone. If anyone knows of any way on xbox 360 or a cheat for me to boost up to the part in the story I was in it would be greatly appreciated.

For the record, you can never lose your achievements. FYI.

 

And unfortunately your data is probably lost forever. The story wouldn't be that hard to beat again, but if you where half way through finding the sh*t rats then that probably sucks.
