TECHN9CiAN
There's a non-secure wifi source in the neighborhood i live in and when ever I connect to it, after about 3-5 minutes, a dark background comes up telling me that the laptop must shut down to avoid damage (or something like that, i don't remember exactly). the wifi source is called "Linksys" and like i said, it's non-secure. Is somebody trying to hack into my laptop or is something else causing this? another time (probably not related to the "linksys"issue) I got a window come up telling me that the ad-on Flash10a.ocx caused my browser to close. is that a virus or something like that? plz help thanks
GTA3Rockstar
I think its trying to tell you to buy your own damn internet. Or once your connected to the internet, a virus is activated.

Or once your connected to the internet, a virus is activated. how come it only happens with this specific connection and not with the ones i get from starbucks, public libraries, and any other private open-access wifi connection? for you. TECHN9CiAN
No, he's right. Buy your own connection Install virus protection It's that simple. I DO HAVE MY OWN CONNECTION! (how the f*ck do you think I'm here right now?) And I do have an antivirus installed (Kaspersky) I just wanted to know for when i want to use my laptop from one room to another without all the damn wiring. So does anyone know whats causing these problems?
Picolini
Don't take offense when people tell you to buy your own connection. That is the right thing to do after all. But I can't blame you for just connecting to an open one, if it's faster. Their loss if they don't secure their network. They could be accessing your PC since you're on their network. And in doing so activating something to harm your laptop. Or have installed a virus, or something. I'd say just stay off that connection if you can. No clue what's causing it. I've only used it twice before, but I just wanted to know what was going on. Well thank you for actually helping and coming in here with a good contribution.
