Calidrugs
Aye, I was wondering if your GTAIV game is having many building pop-ups as of now? When I bought the game back in April, it had no problems, but now it's really lacking. Notice: I haven't used the GTAIV for approximately 3 months. My friend has borrowed the xbox and used it everyday ever since, but I doubt that has to do with anything. Any ideas why GTAIV is lagging? Note: Friend has borrowed just the Xbox, not GTAIV. mrcappo
Yeah I was just playing earlier and it was happening, idk it could be my hard drive... (xbox 360)
Mafioso86
i've heard that that type of thing more likely has to do with your xbox/ps3 than gtaiv itself... i'm no gamer whiz kid tho.... so i couldn't really explain why or if it's anymore than a rumor anyways. mr_bungle
If you've installed GTA onto your HDD, that could be the problem. Some people have been complaining that they are having alot more popins since they've installed GTA. Myself perosnally, I've had no troubles with popins since I've installed it. I don't have much problems with popins, and I've been playing daily pretty much. It might just be your Xbox, but who knows.
dlx
could be different things.. -disc dirty or scratched?? -lens dirty (this happens quite a lot with xbox, easily fixed with a lens cleaner which is basically a cd with some brush-hairs on it) -but most probable, since i've been experiencing it as well, it's caused by installing it to the harddrive. Just delete it... (i had to delete it trough the memory settings menu, cause from the dashboard it didn't work) should be fine after that.
dominguero
It's happening to me as well. I've installed it to the HD and if I play it off that it's just crap how many pop ins and building glitches are happening. But when playing off the disc now it seems worse than before as well. I play a good couple of times each week and since this xbox live update it's been a little weird. What happens every now and then now that never happened before is that when I'm going quite fast that sometimes for a few secs it looks like all the cars are about a foot off the ground. Also the tunnel that connects Alderney to Alonquin is have major texturing problems upon entry and exit. Haven't deleted GTA off my HD yet, just can't imagine that having anything to do with it when playing off the disc but I'll delete it and if it changes anything I'll post it. Very weird and annoying though.
dlx
it's definitely a lot slower.... check for Halo3, it has the same issues and bungie came out with a press release detailing how come. It's designed to be streamed from a disc, and that way your xbox can suck data from two sources... if you install it, everything has to come from the HDD, effectively slicing your bandwith in half. and clearing your cache before you start a game seems to help with framerate, popup and the way traffic spawns, anyway... Ravenwood
and clearing your cache before you start a game seems to help with framerate, popup and the way traffic spawns, anyway... I don't know how to do that.

Magic_Al
Cache clearing demo: This does not delete saves or other user-managed content but it will delete game updates (which will reload from Xbox Live when needed).
Shaunr
I don't think I've ever had that problem. But when i got my xbox, I'd carry back and forth between houses in the box it came with. 2 weeks after i got it, My dad was carrying it up to the house and the stupid top of the box tore and the xbox fell to the concrete. But the xbox worked fine after that and I'm not really having popups in my game.
Emotion98.3
Yeah, ive installed GTA IV on my harddrive and it does load faster but, if im speeding down the highway too fast i could hit something that isn't even there. Then 2 seconds after IT APPEARS , just makes me laugh sometimes. Im no hardcore gamer and have a temper tantrum about it. Just gives me a good laugh.
