Hi,

I am not sure, but most likely low to medium.

Hopefully I will be able to get a widescreen resolution as I am getting a widescreen in Mid-December.

I be running it on the system in my signature, am hoping to upgrade Graphic Card and CPU sometime next year.

I'm sure I can run it maxed, unless R* has problems with Radeon cards like everyother developer the last few games I bought, Brothers in Arms HH couldent play Black Friday because I have a ATI card, waited a month for a fix. Fallout 3 dident work at first eventually fixed it, Far Cry 2 crashed after 30mins of play took a month to fix that. With that trend Im expecing problems and wont be suprised. Anyway my PC's GPUs are PC-1: 8600GTS 256MB. PC 2- Radeon HD4850 512MB.

Oviously gonna play it on the 4850 but Ill try it on the 8600GTS too.

there are certain graphical features i dont mind turning down a few notches.

shadows fidelity can be turned down, but i want shadows distance to stay high (nothing is more annoying to me that seeing shadows appear as they get in range)

lighting distance never bothered me. if it's a feature in IV than i will turn it down.

reflections - i dont mind the being smudged andd rough as long as they are moving at a high FPS. i guess that with a lot of traffic than a lot of riflections will be added so it better be a feature with a slider or traffic is going to be a problem...

view distance... hmmm, i bet it would be a shame to lower this one but if it will make a difference than i will turn it down to 70% or so.

tectures - that does improve performances if u gave the Gigs, and with 2gb on XP i think i can have textures on high so im not worried here.

i wonder what other graphical features might be in this game. shaders are likely to be there but that usually has something to do with water. in FC2 i play them on high and the water looks great! with shaders on Very high or Ultra high they look better but the price in FPS is SOOOOO big that it just doesnt worth the while. on HIGH the water still looks awesome. i hope this will also be the case with IV.

i bet particles will be a feature.

physics might as well.

what do u think?

I will be expecting at least max settings running at 1440 x 900 at a constant 30fps. If GTA 4 doesn't do that on my quad with 8800gts then in my books Rockstar will have failed.

Same here, it's not looking like a good port though. I wished Rockstar had given Valve permission to port the game...

Yes would be better! Look at the Source Games you can even run it on PC's with Onboard Graphic Cards and Cards who only support Dirext X 8! biggrin.gif

Valve is the best company who are making PC games

It's been said a number of times, you should be able to play it on high at least (depending on your monitor's res) but we'll jsut have to wait.

I really hope they aren't bastards enough to give us a crappy port after all this waiting...

That's because Valve use the Source engine, which runs on almost anything these days.

I think, that game will run on XP SP2, but download SP3 from microsoft.com [~300mb]. If game require SP3 you will only install it & run teh GTA IV tounge.gif

1280x1024 is my monitor's max, I will be happy if I can play it to 70% of the xbox gfx.

If I can't, I'll save the game until I get my comp upgraded.

What I call playable is 1280x1024 resolution with High detail settings and traffic. I hope my computer will make it like that way because I played Crysis with 1280x1024 and very high settings and AA 2x and it run smoothly. Look at my specs from the signature. Would I be able to run it with high details and 1280x1024 or even 1400x800 or something like that

I'm hoping to run it at 1680 x 1050 with medium - high settings. Traffic may have to be turned down a bit, hoping maybe around 50-60%. I'd like to get 30-40 fps. I'm a sucker for visuals though devil.gif

My rig:

Intel E6600 @ 2.4GHz

2 Gigs Corsair DDR2-800 Ram

nVidia 8800 GTS 640

Asus P5N-E MB

Haha good luck with that res biggrin.gif

i have nvidia Gforce 6100 512mb, will it?

I doubt it would even run GTA SA at nice resolutions and frame rate.

I would have it simple: 1280*800 resolution, widescreen, traffic density - 33 (like on consoles), other settings as minimal as possible.

Having re-read all the info on requirements, and having a little personal insight done, I'd say densities at console levels, resolution at 1280x720 (For the full-HD monitor of my laptop), everything else on low. Reason? Heck, it willl still look miles better than GTA-SA on max, and for me that is already a good enough graphical score.. Besides, after playing Fallout3 for a while, I learned that graaphics are by far the least important factor of a properly good videogame.

Killuminati91

1280x1024; high settings; maximum traffic 33; draw distance = sniper range

It HAS to look better than on console. R* give us a performance patch!

Q6600

4GB MDT DDR2 RAM

Gainward 8800gt GS

I think my setting will be:

Resulution: As Low as possible

Detail: As High as possible

Just like I did with Crysis and Far Cry 2...

Since i already have the game on my Xbox 360, i would call any graphics playable, since i've never been a PC-Gamer anyways. All i want from the PC version is the replay editor and see how the multiplayer works and looks. smile.gif
