Freddy999
ARE buzzy/sharp* OK so I got GTA IV on the first day and I've been *slightly* annoyed by the sharp graphic my game has. (EDIT: Don't flame me. I meant that it was slightly annoying back then, now its just pissing me off, lol) Now, before I move on, I'd like to say, that I've actually googled around and found some help, but none worked. I set my TV to 1050p (or was it it i?), went into display settings, set that special one (don't remember which, I'm sure you do), to "full" rather than "limited". Ok, so everything should be ok, right? Wrong. I use a HDMI to get better quality but I'm afraid that it's the game. I bought it from the american Ebay (I'm from EU) and I'm afria dthat, somehow, my PS3 won't work with US-games. Again, I'm not sure, because my Oblivion-game from my local store got the same problem. Sharp/buzzy graphics. I mean Nikos face is VERY VERY VERY sharp. It's annoying. I thought I'd get my camera and then take some shots or film it, but I doubt anyone would want it..However, if I get a request, yeah, I'm gonna do it. Please help, what do I do? Could it be the TV? gamesguru
I thought a sharper picture was a good thing!? If you mean like jagged edges, then that means that the picture maybe compressed. Seeing as you have a 1050p (never knew they existed) and put on max (up-scales to 1080), it has compressed it back down to your 1050 display. Try playing it on a 720p setting; isn't there a automatic option, than finds the display setting for you on the PS3?
adiohead
your tv should detect the ps3 settings automatically. make sure it's all set to 1080p if the image looks sharp then it's probably your tv's settings. try taking the sharpness levels down. I'll try lowering it down to 750 and see what it will be, but honestly, don't you think its my TV? Its a thin one, maybe thats why?
Freddy999
Just tried the 1080i then the 1080p then finally 750 Resolution was (AFAIK) 500-something. I know it sounds confusing, but none of those made it work. The background was still very blurry, vibrant and the overall envirioment had a high contrast (I tried adjusting my TV settings to the one that looked best)
Scirocco
How big is your TV? I just got a new 32" tv yesterday. I used to play on a 24" or something. The graphis is really buzzy for me on the new TV. I've tried changing all kinds of settings, both in-game and on the TV. But I've figured that it's probably the size of the TV that does it. It's like if you take a small picture on your computer and make it bigger. The quality will be reduced. I guess you'll need one of those hardcore HD flat screens if you want a big screen with a clear graphic.
Singey
If you dont want jagged edges then you need to buy a TV which fits the outputted resolution perfectly. Seeming as though the game is 720p native you would need a TV with an exact resolution of 1280 (?) x 720. Im afraid most TVs out there today are either 768, 1050 or 1080 so there will always be jagged edges. There is a 1080p option but its upscaled and so there will still be jagged edges. GTA does look horrible IMO. I have to sit back just so it looks a bit smoother. The PC version will be outputted at whichever resolution the user wants and so the game will look a lot better in a true resolution.

That might be the problem. Well, thanks for the help, I guess. Oldschool ftw.
