HolyGrenadeFrenzy Posted November 26, 2008 Share Posted November 26, 2008 Well I've got three pet rats, maybe not exotic but a bit more unusual then your cats and dogs. What I'd like is a Ferret but I've heard they are quite aggressive and can be quite hard to train so I might stick to rats. But once you get the knack they are very trainable and they also eat and hunt snakes like the rest of their family. The most important thing is deciding on whether or not to decent them....it can be pretty attrocious at times. You can train them to live in a handbag for travel and then stay either in the handbag or go up on your shoulders. Lots of fun....they need a bell on them when around the house or when they slink up to look at what you are doing they can tend to get stepped on(often fatally, eek)_..... I also have a small aviary in my house with birds and 2 chickens(1male, 1 female). I also have a small man made pond with Koi fishes. No, I don't live on a farm. I used to be crazy about big spiders and bugs when I was younger. But now, thinking about it just give me the creeps. Some countries have less restrictive laws about pets it seems. I'm pretty sure you can't keep a domesticated primate/ape/monkey in Canada (but I could be wrong). @GTA3rockstar, ferrets are incredibly cute animals but are way too curious for their own good. They often die from chewing on electrical wires or climbing out windows etc. Definitely get the musk gland removed as they stink more than a male cat in heat. Hedgehogs are also great little pets.
