You saying the PC (player character) can't drive from place to place or shoot peds on the street, etc.? What? You just sit at the Don's screen, and clicking on businesses just opens up mini-games or something? Its not freeroaming on the same scale as GTA IV/Saints Row 2. Not even close. Theys no gain from just driving around, there are few odd jobs. Its not the same sense as say Chinatown wars. In Godfather 1, it was still fun (added to the immersion as well) to explore the city and look around, and you had to explore to find the arms dealers if I recall correctly (they were generally in alleys, of course). Oh, and though you e-thugs here will scoff at this no doubt, if you happened to stumble across someone trying to steal some female ped's purse and beat the crap out of him, the victim would thank and praise you. That was a really nice touch, I thought. Reminded me of pre-GTA:SA's "Good Samaritan" feature. (I silently cursed R* endlessly for removing that feature.) Graphics shouldn't be the deciding factor in purchasing a game. Unless the graphics are that bad that you cannot physically play the game, then there's no reason not to buy the game. The game play is what really matters and from what I can tell; this game has some good features. I'm going to have to pick it up on rent and see what it plays like. The game tries to mkae you feel incharge but I still feel like somebodies bitch. The shooting is fun as is taking over bussiness but once you have the building all it odes is bring money (some have little perks). The game is not bad, there has been loads of effort put into this game and you can see it. Graphics are better then Saints Row 2 but worse then GTA IV but to be honest plays better then both of them on PC. I can run it on my Laptop on High and I get over 30FPS all the time. So for a port its much better then GTA IV and Saints Row 2. The driving, this is my main issue. GTA IV had realsitc driving that wasn't to everones taste and Saints Row 2 had arcade BUT the car still felt like it had weight. This game youll be going 100 miles and hour and bam you hit a wall. I doubt EA put that much focus into realistic driving because the game is a crime game first, and a driving game second. It doesn't create that much of a problem; but when you come off of an hour long stint on GTA IV then try and play a game like this, it can feel awfully weird. Graphics 7/10 - It looks nice enough on high on PC, it has antialsing so jaggies cn be gone. Plus it has depth of field which help cover up uglies in the background. Some popup problems can kill immersion. Some enviorments look the part like rundaown areas etc and some just look like generic bland places. Gameplay 7/10 - Its a very fun game and most of the time you feel like a don. Taking over bussiness is still brillient fun. The family tree part where you get to choice your made men is great and indepth with the uprgradeing and channging the appeal. Bussiness control can feel a little shallow at times and sometimes the citys can feel like a lifeless place Sound 9/10 - Sound actually creates alot of the atmosphere in the city but the main star is voice acting here which is great so the game feels more like a story Story 9/10 - Its the godfather II sotry with some of your own direction. It was alright in some aspects, but it was boring to me in how all the warehouses had the same design and map. The enemies were even located in the same places. It doesn't have very many cars either. Lots of the buildings looked alike. I liked the destructible enviroments in Godfather. The tasks were kinda limited and repetitive. I'd say overall it was a GOOD game, but nowhere near a GREAT game.
