MahoganyJoint
The Godfather II is a 2009 video game based on The Godfather Part II, a 1974 crime drama film directed by Francis Ford Coppola and written by Mario Puzo. The game will be published by Electronic Arts and has been confirmed to be released on the PS3, Xbox 360 and Microsoft Windows. This is also a sequel to The Godfather: The Game, which was also developed and published by EA in 2006. The development of the sequel was hinted at from as early as 2007, and in August 2008, EA officially revealed the game, which is to be released in February 2009 The Godfather II will take place in the late 1950s over 3 cities: Havana, New York City, and Miami. Michael Corleone orders the player's character to take charge of the family after the death of Aldo Trapani, the first game's protagonist. Now as Dominic, the player leads the family to defeat other families and take control of various businesses and crime rings, in order to become the most powerful mobster in America. Although "inspired by" the film, the game will deviate from the film's plot; for example, the flashbacks of Vito Corleone's early life in Sicily will not be featured. Many of the stars of the film will lend their likenesses and voices to the game; this includes Robert Duvall returning to voice Tom Hagen. However, Al Pacino will not voice Michael Corleone (making it the second game he won't appear in), and Coppola, the director of the film, is also reported to be uninvolved with the game's development www.ea.com/godfather2/home.action release date=TBC
Algonquin Assassin
Early 2009 is going to be great for nostalgic mid 20th century sandbox games. This, and Mafia II are on my "must have" list for early next year. Edited November 25, 2008 by Miamivicecity
SHXC
Is it just me or does this game look sh*t? The Godfather is awesome, and I still play it on the 360 every now and again, but this just looks rubbish. Maybe it's just me.

beavis
I heard from one of the EA developers that this isn't even based off the second movie. Considering you're the Don this time. Hardcore Godfather fans like myself are eagerly expecting this one.
Sergi
Is it just me or does this game look sh*t? It ain't just you. This looks like a dud. Well then I guess it's just you two. How can you say it looks crappy when you've barely seen anything? And if it's anything like the 1st one it'll be atleast an 8 and it already looks like it'll add more to the genre then GTA IV did. The only thing I don't like is having a pre made character. One of the major things about the 1st one was Mobface and I wish they would've kept that. Don Garcia aka NjNakedSnake
Well then I guess it's just you two. How can you say it looks crappy when you've barely seen anything? What are you talking about? There's two vids in this topic full of gameplay footage, and it looks garbage. Down to the awful shooting animations and lousy fight system. WelcomeToLibertyCity
Next time you make a topic, use the search button. I made a topic already for this game. But anyways it does look sweet. It's coming out my b-day month so hopfully I'll get it then.
Algonquin Assassin
WTF? There's nothing wrong with the graphics. I swear ever since GTA IV came out all people say is how crap the graphics of other sandbox games are.

Algonquin Assassin
I don't see it honestly. I think it looks quite decent.
Sergi
I don't see it honestly. I think it looks quite decent. GTA 4 fanboys will say anything looks horrible now adays as if GTA IV is the best looking game or something. There is nothing wrong what so ever with Godfater II graphics and the game look far from sh*tty. Play the game before you try to make negative comments about it. I'll bet now it averages around an 85.
Themanwiththeplan
I think this game looks great. I am looking forward to it.
One-time
Awful textures, crappy animations. I hope the gameplay and the storyline will do better than the graphics, in this game.
Damo.
Next time you make a topic, use the search button. I made a topic already for this game. This topic has much more effort put into it, so I'm leaving it open. In all fairness, the game doesn't look that bad, or at least not as bad as some of you are making it out to be. The first one was somewhat enjoyable so I might give it a rent at least.

WelcomeToLibertyCity
The people who say the graphics in this game suck and everything are either just fanboys of GTA IV or judging by the crappy screenshot quality. To those who say the graphics look horrible, if you want to witness the master piece of a game everyone else is looking forward to, I suggest you go to it's official site on EA games and watch some videos taken directly form the game. You'll see the difference between the screens and the vids!
RATEDR307
Either way, this game just doesn't look that impressing. It will have some serious competition, and that my friend is Mafia II.
xNamexTakenx
I can't wait for The Godfather II. I'm a big fan of the films (Well, the first one, actually) and also, I liked The Godfather: The Game. So, hopefully this one will be better. It looks and sounds like fun. TGII and Mafia II are on my "must-buy" list. And TGII will give me something to play while waiting for Mafia II. I don't care if this game doesn't follow the movie's storyline. Its gonna be great! I just thought of a great cover art for The Godfather II. There could be a picture of a Don sitting on a chair holding a pimp cane and rings on his finger. Now, that would be a sick cover art! That would be a cool cover, something like Salvatore Leone in San Andreas' art work. But I think EA has a slight idea of what the cover is going to be, and that is on their site somewheres. Chickstick
I enjoyed the first one, and this looks to have improved on the good areas of its prequel whilst disposing of the bad. Definetly on my "to get" list, although I'm looking forward to Mafia II a whole lot more.
