Cheats for Dumbies

Ok this is a rookie question because Ive never entered a cheat code before. So how do you do it? Do you enter them after reloading a saved version or anytime? I tryed to enter one for 30 minutes and all he does is what exactly the button does and no message about a cheat code. Do you do it in the pause screen? Do you have to hold certain button down at the same time? Please halp me to answer this questions.

Cheat codes can be entered at any point of time in the game. They have to be entered during gameplay and not in the pause menu. To activate a particular cheat, you have to press the buttons in succession. For example, to use the cheat 'HESOYAM', all the letters have to be entered one after the other and no other key is to be pressed in between. On successful activation, a message will flash at the top left corner of the screen saying 'Cheat Activated.'

 

To disable a cheat, you just enter the cheat code again and another message will pop saying 'Cheat Deactivated.' Be careful though, not all cheats can be deactivated. I'd advise you to stay away from the 'ped riots' and 'peds attack each other' cheat. Even if you do use them, do NOT save your game.

What do you mean you 'entered one for 30 minutes'?

It took you 30 minutes to put it in?

Even if this was in-game time, that is too long.

 

Adding on to what girish was saying, you have a certain amount of time in between each button that you press before it deactivates and you must restart.

So, you must do it rather hastily, and make sure you press only the keys/buttons you are meant to.

I play on an Xbox 360 and i tryed for 30 minutes to put in some kind of code meaning I pushed all the buttons nothing happened. Then I moved my char a bit then tryed it again nothing rinse repeat nothing.

 

Oh and another thing anyone know how to make him climb ladders on an Xbox 360. Y (triangle on PS2 doesnt seem to do anything). Do you stand as close to the ladder as possible? soem distance away? I can't climb ladders I think this version of the game is too buggy to actually work with this system.

CJ does not have the ability to climb ladders in San Andreas.

That animation is first brought in, in GTA:IV.

 

Oh, you are on XBox, this would've been helpful to know.

 

Ok, put this cheat in during gameplay. Just, like, while CJ is walking around.

Do not press anything other than these buttons, in order.

 

R, Blk, L, A, Left, Down, Right, Up, Left, Down, Right, Up

 

R = Right trigger

L = Left trigger

Blk = Black button

W = White Button

A = Green Button

X = Blue Button

Y = Yellow Button

B = Red Button

I'm a PC player of GTA:SA. And when I want to use a cheat, for an example, spawning hunter helicopter. The cheat code for it is: ohdude. My CJ was just standing on the ground, and I typed "ohdude", doesn't matter how fast I type. I just type it down, and then the small square appeared saying "Cheat Activated". Helicopter is now spawned, and I enjoyed riding on it.

 

I advised you to save and load the game, use the cheat and enjoy, and do not save the game after using cheat.

Why? They dont do sh*t.

Assuming you do not use "Peds attack each other" every single other cheat is perfectly fine and will not affect your game in any way.

I've made it through story missions with 14,000+ activated.
