TECHN9CiAN
multi player free roam? like have 2 people in a room together playing together. Do you mean like in San Andreas? Either way, I don't know, but would like to. I still haven't played the game.

FiliGTAFan
multi player free roam? like have 2 people in a room together playing together. Basically no. There is no co op but it was great in San Andreas. There is multiplayer though, but you can only play online...
Guanxi
You'd have to have two consoles and tv's setup in the same room connected to Xbl or PSN on party mode.
xNamexTakenx
Yes, there is multiplayer freeroam in IV. But, its via internet of course. You can have as many players as you want. It doesn't have to be just two.

GTASIX
No it doesnt. Not with 2 people in same room with 2 control pads. But it has 16 player free roam online on PSN or Xbox live.
xNamexTakenx
Oh yeah. I forgot about the limit of 16 players. @divinee: I musta misunderstood your question. I didn't know what you meant when you said "same room." I guess you mean on the same console? Then, no. IV is only single player when it comes to that. Unless you wanna play online. But, you can't have a friend playing next to you. I didn't really like that feature in SA, anyway. It was so annoying because you could only go a certain distance away from your friend. It was hard to move. They coula at least added split screen or something.
divinee
sorry for the bad explaination what i meant was can 2 players on 2 consle (1 for each on different tv) go online and play a free roam mode?

xNamexTakenx
No, you can't. You'd have to be on two seperate consoles playing each other in freeroam online. There's no way that two players using one console could go online and freeroam. Sorry. But, only one person can be signed on into their PSN/XBL at one time. tj11
They coula at least added split screen or something. If they had done that, the PS2 would have had a f*cking heart attack! @divinee - Yes you certainly can have two players in the same house running two consoles with IV online. I have a couple of PSN friends who do just that. They are a mother and daughter team.
Dear x Sergio
Ok. If you and a friend have online capabilities, then yes, you and said friend have the ability to be in the same free roam game on two separate consoles on two separate television sets. If you don't have online capabilities, you're f*cked.
xNamexTakenx
Why would you want to do that?
uzi 9mm
Well obviously if there are two separate consoles, yes you can.
Lord Illicious
Single player story mode (full gaming mode, all missions but no head to head/cooperative competitions) - Yes Online Multiplayer with up to 16 players (limited gaming mode, no missions with all avalable head to head/cooperative competitions) - Yes Online Co op Story mode (very limited to very few missions) - NO Im a little confused on this one: Link up Co op Story mode (connect/link up 2 or more PS3s to play cooperative story mode) - NO. Im assuming NO because i never read anything about PS3s linked up for GTA4 story mode.

I'll just rephrase what he said and explain it better. Sorry if this has been said, but I got pissed at the stupidity of people on here so I didn't read the rest of the posts. What you CAN'T do: -You can't sit with a friend and play on the same Console and TV with 2 controllers. Not like in SA. What you CAN do: -Create an Xbox LIVE account, and your friend also, get 2 360's/Ps'3 whatever console you play on, insert Gta 4, add HIS Gamertag and join party mode and invite your new friend via the party mode cellphone. Complicated? Just navigate your way through it, it's easy. I didn't like, either, the SA multiplayer. I haven't played online with other players (I've seen vids on youtube about people playing SA multiplayer) but i've played with a friend and the camera was annoying. My friend, with CJ, would run so damn fast and i'd have the stupid priest or fat groove homie and run so slow and get hit by cars and die after 4 minutes of gameplay and then whine that i'd always die and pop in Half-Life 2 instead. tj11
The sh*t thing about SA MP was that the health cheat didn't work for player two. OT - People keep saying Party Mode, but you can have two people in the same house with one modem-router, two TVs, two PS3s and two copies of IV online, playing any game mode.
