Remix Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 Recently just got rated a 5 on Gamespot, a 7.1 on Ign, and a 7.9 on Game Trailers. =/ I've been following this game for months now...and it seems so damn surreal that this game is rating poorly. I mean, it had so much promise. Realistic, open-world, Ubisoft and made with help from Shaun White (quite literally). I read some reviews, such as Game Trailers, and it honestly doesn't sound so bad. But Gamespot make it sound so damn bad. Look, has anyone actually played the game? I hate relying on reviewers to buy a game or not, so I'd rather just an opinion or two. Thanks. I know the game hasn't officially come out worldwide until the 23rd, but they won't have it available even after it comes out. =/ That's what I'm thinking though. This type of game needs to be reviewed by someone who truly loves to snowboard, and can appreciate the feel Ubisoft was going for, when creating free-roam mountains with chairlifts and villages around... OysterBarron Posted November 17, 2008 Share Posted November 17, 2008 (edited) I brought it on friday, Im not a snowboarding fan But have been playing it literally nonstop, 16 player online multiplayer is good. and you can still collect all the collectibles while in an online room allthough when you get a cut scene it will dissconnect you. good points Pretty awesome levels loads of places to do tricks and you can improvise. 16 player multiplayer Plenty of customizable features witch vary depending if your a boy or a girl once you get into it its really good i say about an hour worth of play Nothing like the feeling of pulling off a double backflip and landing on a grind Pretty open world Bad points A few bugs but not many that take away from the gameplay One of these is when playing online there is a glitch (that no one knows how to recreate) where you will jip out or something and you will be awarded with $130,000,000 for absolutly f*ck all, Happened to my friend online and i checked gamespot and others have had the same thing. quite a step learning curve with the controls but once you grasp them its all good sorta like skate but better i didnt like skate Dont beleive what gamespot says ive never liked snowboarding but its really good. allthough i cant compare this to ssx or other snowboarding games, Because the last one i played was 1080 snowboarding on N64 witch was sh*t by the way. but like waddy said if in doubt give it a rent if you can find it Edited November 17, 2008 by oysterbarron Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Shaun White is a twatty f*cker and his game will be utter sh*te. Dusts hands I haven't played the game but if it's supposed to be an authentic snowboarding experience, then that's just not going to happen. As with all sporting games attempting the realistic feel I suppose. God dam, he really is an annoying twatty f*cker though. That said, there's been a lot of very mixed views on the Shaun White forums. Most people are saying that you will hate it at first, but it gets better...? If you're just after it for the sake of having a snowboarding game, then it's probably the best current gen title out there. If not the only one. I'm enjoying the game well enough but it definitely doesn't give you that feel of snowboarding down a mountain side. Something that I really don't like is that no blizzards happen, and no snow ever falls. The controls are fairly easy once you get the hang of them.
