Riezner
LittleBigPlanet: Picked it up the day it came out. A lot of fun, but didn't really keep my attention as much as I'd like. I haven't played it in a couple days, so I should go back and try to beat the campaign and then build my own level or something. It's a very cute game, and has tons of charm, but it's a lot more fun if you're playing with a friend. EndWar: I was REALLY looking forward to this one, but after playing the demo, I'm kinda disappointed. It's a bit too simple, but I'm looking forward to the full campaign when it comes from Gamefly. Also, have yet to try out the voice commands, so I need to get on that before really judging it. Mirrors Edge: Very innovative. Played the demo and really enjoyed it. Wouldn't buy, but definitely rent when it comes out in a few days. So, overall, I'm slightly disappointed thus far with the holiday line-up. Possible redeemers: HAWX, Call of Duty World at War, Portal 2 (when it comes), Sims 3 (when it comes), Batman Game (when it comes), and Half Life Episode 3 What're your thoughts? tuff_luv_capo
Sims 3 isn't until almost Spring of next year but I'm anxious for it since they've taken all the petty bullsh*t out. It had so much potential, ruined by commanding your people to poop and bathe every f*cking 30 seconds. You couldn't accomplish ANYTHING because you were too busy sleeping, sh*tting, or showering. Creed Bratton
I would go for anything Tom Clancy is involved with But other games are pretty cool too. Except CoD5. It's bloody disappointing IMO

It's bloody disappointing IMO I have EndWar on Gamefly right now, it's okay. I like the whole voice command thing, that's pretty neat, as it's the first time I've plugged in my mic to use in a game. That led me to try COD5 with my mic just last night, and with a few drinks in me, I had a blast. A lot of fun. The game itself is not THAT great, it's dim in comparison to COD4, but I blame Treyarch for that. CoD should be in the hands of Infinity Ward, that's all there is to it. Alick
I love LBP, COD5 and Mirrors Edge is definitaly worth the purchase it's amazing. I've bought most new releases lately, and most have been worth it with the exception of Mercenaries 2. Plus I thought the Endwar demo was crap, not what I was expecting at all. My thoughts as well, EndWar came as a bit of a surprise to me. And a huge disappointment. I was looking forward to it probably more than any other title this holiday, and it was the biggest fail. Oh well....

kingvercetti
I've only bought two games recently but they were in quick succession (Gears 2 Spec Ed at £45 on release, followed the next Friday by Mirror's Edge at £40), and considering the cost of these games, I find it disappointing that I've completed both of them within the first two days I had them. Really, am I getting better or are games getting shorter? I can still sink 20 hours into a good RPG (yes I mean Pokemon), but it just seems like most games nowadays don't last. So yeah, like OP, I'm disappointed with the holiday titles I've bought. I'm hoping Fallout 3 changes that for me.
tuff_luv_capo
Games are DEFINITELY getting shorter. I can't remember a recent game that's taken me more than a rental to beat. It's one of the reasons I miss KOTOR so much. Being immersed so much, you lose track of real life.

Gears of War 2 had a brilliant campaign for the type of game it is, and compared to the first one its amazing. Going to get L4D around Chrimbo to keep my MP tastes satisfied and maybe CoD5. Damo.
Has there been any info on a new Hitman game? I've only heard a few rumours, but Blood Money's ending left a lot of things unexplained. I'd like to see a darker mood, like in Contracts. And they could stand to make it a bit longer too. Blood Money and Contracts were only about half the length of Silent Assassin. jelly
Portal 2, Sims 3, HL2EP3? Maybe next holiday season.. Maybe. Especially the Valve games. I am disappointed as well, Red Alert 3 turned out to be less of a game than it ought to be, Bethesda pissed all over Fallout's good name by making Oblivion 2150 and naming it Fallout 3, Far Cry 2 too is an obvious console port, Starcraft 2 got delayed till 09, IV PC got delayed for two more weeks, Mirror's Edge PC got delayed till next year.. At least Left 4 Dead will be here soon. IV PC I am certain will be delicious once it arrives.
Kaiser_AK
I think the holiday season games this year were pretty solid... lots of good action titles. LBP is one of those games that I think has a lot of potential and grows better with all the DLC that they're gonna release for it (but I'm hearing that they're making a lot of paid ones). I think Hitman 5 has been confirmed but Eidos has already come out and started that they're working on Kane and Lynch 2 at the moment. I think this years holiday titles have been pretty good. Left 4Dead has been awesome so far and amazingly hectic and fun whilst doing 4 player co-op on advanced difficulty. I've not played the full Mirrors Edge game just the demo but that was great aswell, something completely different. Call of Duty 5 has had a solid start and i'm looking forward to the next missions coming up. Plus there's still Prince of Persia 4 to come aswell . jelly
Ahh, why the hell are they making Kane and Lynch 2? The first was crap. That's not a problem - rather than making proper games they've decided to fix review scores instead.
GTASIX
Hitman 5 . Im going to predict November 2009 for it. Even the PS2 version of blood money looked amazing, imagine what they can do now with real HD. Maybe it could have euphoria aswell? Ragdoll is good for last gen but now they have the possibilities I think they should use them.
Neal40000
Half Life Episode 3 (when it comes) i have to agree with you, im also very dissapointed, i mean gears 2 and COD5, some people are getting for xmas, but come on there not really holiday titles.. prince of persias probably the only holiday title, yet i dont see anyone going on about it or mentioning it, so i take it thats gona suck ? i watch a review of it on TV and 1. the guy was a noob that didnt know anythnig about games 2. graphics looked ace but im not a graphics person at all (i dont buy games for their graphics like alot of the crysis peeps)
Cursed
The Sims 3 looks exactly like The Sims 2. I remember how I felt when the Sims 2 was first shown, I was amazed since it was such a jump from the first one (The only reason I had my first PC built was The Sims, since my Windows 95 one wasn't good enough). Without the original Sims, I might not be here right now . The reason it doesn't really tempt me is probably the fact I don't really like The Sims anymore. My Sims games are sitting in their special edition tin... gathering dust.
Rhoda
I seem to have cycles where I enjoy the Sims, at least the house building aspect of it, and then after a few weeks I can't stand it. Rinse and repeat. I wouldn't play on the Sims 3 enough to make it worth my money, no matter how many bells and whistles are on it now. Shame, seeing as I have a shed load of furniture downloaded for the original Sims, which has increased it's longevity.

Never was much of a Sims 2 fan. They added too many unnecessary features that overcomplicated it. I loved the first one though.
