the_travis_s_21
Hey guys, I need some help regarding my old account, the_travis_s. I haven't logged in since 2006 and I can't remember my password. The worst thing is that I've had about three new email accounts since then and I can't remember my old address that's on the account. So obviously, I can't reset my password myself. I'd rather not register a new account, because my old account has about 1500 posts and I'd like to begin using it again. If possible, could one of the admins reset the password for the account so I could use it again? Thanks.
Mainland Marauder
Not completely sure on this one, but if you don't remember what email address you used you're probably out of luck. You don't have any recollection whatsoever? You could reset your password but it would send an email to whatever one you used to register. I'd say start thinking about which one you might've used, if in fact it's still an active email that you had used back in '06. I've tried every e-mail and password combo I've used on the internet, with no success yet. I just don't want to have to give up the account. I've had it for about seven years now, and it still has a fair amount of posts on it, which I'd hate to lose.
Mainland Marauder
Don't know what to tell you. Life sucks sometimes. Then again, someone who actually works with the forums/GTANet might have some answers for you. You wouldn't have an email account with some stuff from a few years back that might have a PM notification or something like that which would give you an idea which account you might've used? If you had PM notifications, try PMing your old account, then go pull up your emails and see if you have something pop up. Then you'd have half the answer anyway. the_travis_s_21
Just tried that. Again, no luck.
Monuriki.
You could PM a staff member to give you the email address that the account is registered under. Edit, Your Hotmail email address is on your profile, have you tried that? Edited November 17, 2008 by Monuriki.
Mainland Marauder
You could PM a staff member to give you the email address that the account is registered under. Edit, Your Hotmail email address is on your profile, have you tried that? There we go. Now if you've got access to that email address you can reset your password and then you should be sorted. the_travis_s
Very interesting. I'm the owner of the the_travis_s account... and I (obviously) happen to remember my password. So hopefully you're just being honest and mistakenly thought that the_travis_s is your account. But either way, I'm here to tell you that it's not
Damo.
This is where you can't tell if he's the real owner or you are It's obviously the same person trying to create some e-drama. Isn't it a bit of a coincidence that the_travis_s just happened to make his first post for 3 years after someone asked for the email to be changed on his account? The OP is just being an attention whore.
the_travis_s
This is where you can't tell if he's the real owner or you are Well, I was contacted from Suction Testicle Man through a Futuremark forums PM on my account there which is... I think you can guess... the_travis_s I'm not aware of anybody else using the name the_travis_s. It's my screen name that I've been using for 10+ years now across multiple forums. So I'd assume this is somebody trying to use my name here, but wtf would that accomplish? Very bizarre. OK, so the only reason I even posted here was to make sure my password isn't reset, for whatever that's worth. Hopefully me posting through my account with the same password it's been since it was created is enough to prevent that from happening. floof
OK, so the only reason I even posted here was to make sure my password isn't reset, for whatever that's worth. Why would it matter to you if you haven't been around for over three years. The mods can just look at your IP adress and see if its the same or not so youv'e got nothing to worry about if your not the_travis_s_21.
Suction Testicle Man
OK, so the only reason I even posted here was to make sure my password isn't reset, for whatever that's worth. Why would it matter to you if you haven't been around for over three years. The mods can just look at your IP adress and see if its the same or not so youv'e got nothing to worry about if your not the_travis_s_21. For one, whoever the original poster is, he was trying to hijack the_travis_s's account and masquerade as a respected member - you may not think that matters, but I certainly do, and so does the_travis_s. His IP will have undoubtedly changed in the last 3 years, so that's not exactly a full proof way of checking. Anyway, thanks real Travis for posting to clear that up. If at first you don't succeed, you fail, and the test will be terminated.
