CJ_Vercetti
damn, I hate this dial up... anyway, how big the file is and where can I download it from? I'll rather wait two hours to see something new when I have to wait two weeks for the game...
W1ckeD-
Even with that low quality video, I can see better reflections in the cars! Yeah, and the FPS is much more stable. Watch him drive a car trough the police roadblock, on the consoles the frame rate would drop....
CJ_Vercetti
Well, I finally downloaded it... an hour and a half i took me...enough to watch a movie... and I have to say that I liked what I've seen, can hardly wait to put my hands on it... too bad the guy didn't have Nokia N95 or like to shoot this video... great work, BTW... I'll hold off for something at 720p terrible quality???? are you f*cking kidding me??? not only that it will run on 1600x1200 resolution(which is way higher than anything consoles can handle) it has improved graphics(new reflections and probably higher res textures)....the vid is in poor quality because of the camera

I'll hold off for something at 720p Cameras weren't allowed, hence the poor quality. It was probably a cell phone camera or something. The point is to let us see how the new film editor works. amisnaru
I wonder if you can use the replay editor in multiplayer. Yeah, you can. or actually, you save the clip by pressing a key during gameplay (single- and multiplayer) and go to the Video Editor in single player via the phone. MISTO
I wonder if you can use the replay editor in multiplayer. Yeah, you can. Another Obama supporter The gunfights in multiplayer are often hotter than the single player ones. I can't wait to turn a multiplayer fight into a John Woo like video I think that video editor stuff is not a bad thing to extend the game's lifetime. thaCURSEDpie
You can always count on the Russians to leak the stuff that isn't supposed to be public Thanks for the vid. Although it didn't really add anything new (quality was too bad ), it's just nice to see. (And I'm afraid Youtube will take it down in a short while) EDIT: On topic of the video-editor, I actually don't really like it. You're being very very limited. You can only record the last 30-60 seconds, which is short, IMHO (yes, you can use it to replay that one cool crash, but what if you're planning to do some stunt and it takes you more than that time? I was hoping that they would implent the system that Valve's (and lots of other developers too) been using for quite a while. It goes like this: 1. You open the console (does that even exist in a GTA game...?) 2. You type in: record demoname. *The game starts recording everything you do. This is not done by capturing all the frames, but by recording what you are doing in the game. So it stores things like "Player aims at point (x,y,z) at moment t, walks for s seconds, etc. This way, it has almost no impact on your performance, instead of Fraps for example. This can also go on for as long as you want. The only downside is that you can really change the view.* 3. To stop recording, type: stop. in the console. 4. To replay simply start the demo through the console, and the game will display it. (render it again.) You can then record it to a movie-file by using a console-command or third-party software like Fraps. The reason not to use Fraps to start with, is because it impacts your performance Severely! Gaaahhhh, I can't stand people complaining about the 30-60 second time limit per clip. You see, it's PER CLIP. You can keep pressing the "clip save key" every 30 seconds to capture a longer scene! And you can probably press it in pause menu too, so you don't have to have 11 fingers to play & press the clip key at the same time. Besides, 30-60 seconds is a long time in an action game/film. You can easily do multiple stunts in that time.

mashine
Some news about PC version insides from http://www.rockstarwatch.net/news/637/Kiki...AIV-PC-Preview/: * The game is being ported by Rockstar Toronto, developers of the GTA 1: London 1969 expansion pack and The Warriors. They have also ported some of Rockstar's top games such as Oni for the PS2, Max Payne for the PS2, and more recently the Wii versions of Manhunt 2 and Bully. * Texture quality choices range from high, medium, and low. * Other things that can be changed are shadow quality, texture filter quality, reflection resolution, and water quality. They all have 4 different settings low, medium, high, and very high. * View distance, detail distance, shadow density, light distance, and even vehicle density (which was only set to 33 in the console versions!) can all be set from 1 all the way to 100. * Rockstar's was not lying when they said the draw distance was much better than the console versions. The previewer stated that when they were in a helicopter they could see the entire map and even saw individual traffic. No paint filtering effect, no lighting cover up and no wobbling, just pure and sharp scenery. * The textures have been improved greatly. * The reviewer loved RAGE so much as he went on to say "It's further evidence that RAGE is one of the best bits of technology in gaming right now." * Multiplayer now has custom search filtering. For example, you can filter out games that have auto-aim on and vice versa. * The number of players for online games have been expanded, however, Rockstar didn't provide the new number. * If you are used to video editors, you are going to love Rockstar's replay editor. * The game will render out videos in WMV format ranging from 720p to 1080p resolution. * New artwork at the loading screen Source: Kikizo (link above) Edited November 17, 2008 by mashine

All PC GTAs since GTA3 have auto aim. I don't know if it's just me but I think walking down the stairs is much faster in the video than on the consoles. And how is the video still allowed? cant remember
I suppose the quality of the video is so abysmal that no one cares. Not even mods bother to get rid of links swervling around to the vids. It's nice to see the replay editor but the movie really isn't all that impressive.
