Motanum
I was thinking maybe rockstar will use the same engine, that they use for gta 4, and re use it on onther gta, like they did in VC and SA, that they were the same engines in GTA3, so i was thinking that they could do it in the future! like in GTA2 was set in the future. and i dont mean it has to be 2100, maybe with just 2038, it doesnt need to be that far in the future there was this weapons that electroctues people! that was such a cool weapon, and rockstart hasnt gave us that weapon again! i hope they do! but hey i ask you... IF NEW GTA WAS SET ON THE FUTURE! WHAT WOULD YOU LIKE TO SEE THERE?
Dicaprio
Gta is based more on realism so it may never happen and if it did it wouldnt be anytime soon.

uzi 9mm
If it was set in the future it would be sh*t, I'd rather they set it 100 years back.
Algonquin Assassin
A near future like 2015 would be cool, but like Tony said a current gen GTA 2 would kick ass. I like how in GTA 2 the cars were almost nostalgic. It was like the future from the point of view in the 1940s/1950s.
FiliGTAFan
I prefer it to be current gen as well. Futuristic would be crazy but I wouldn't mind if they made one...
