Someone tell me if thats wrong. data on the install dvd are compressed installed files: 16/18Go installation files: 8Go? You tell me that 16gb are compressed to 8gb (half size) on a dvd? I doubt that. I don't doubt that at all. Most release groups can compress their pirated games that much, so why couldn't a multi-million dollar company do it? Most release groups can compress their pirated games that much, so why couldn't a multi-million dollar company do it? auctually it was pretty strange when Far Cry 2 when it was 4.10 when i installed it (currently i do own the game, but couldnt wait so torrent to the rescue) even that it was a CloneDVD Release. and it means a 100% copy of the DVD. it even passed the DVD check when i tried! but im sure they ripped something. it must be. they cant compress it to half the size and get same preformance / slow loading times. Can't wait I just hope that VISTA doesn't f*ck up and ask me I have to be an administrator when I'm the only user account on it, but saying that, I only blame that on my previous A120% because it wasn't a VISTA version. European release propably won't be postponed anyway. For europeans, the only good thing about "2nd dec US release" could be that they might get a pirated version. But let me count: Lets say, stores in the US (e.g. NY) open at 8am on the 2nd of december. At the same time, it is ~6 hours later in Europe, 2pm. European stores open at 8am on the 3rd of december, wich is exactly 18 hours later than the stores in the US on the 2nd of december opened. So Pirates must get the game in the US at 8am in the store, go home, load the disc, copy it (maybe crack it, i dunno, i have no knowledge about it) and upload it. This might take 2 hours (or even more), then there are 16 hours left till the european release time (european storeopening in the morning). In those 16 hours, a european could be downloading the game + isntalling it in about 3 hours (minimum). So there would be 13 hours left until the european release. Conclusion: Yay i could play GTA 4 13 hours earlier as european when the release in the US stays at 2nd dec... ...but i'd not do it, cause 8 of those hours i will spend sleeping and the other 5 will be a very "holy night" /evening, just like an american christmas eve for little kids xD Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He promised to keep us informed if anything changed however. It says so right in the gta4.net site. This way it looks not so long anymore (ill change it back to normal tomorrow). Right now, im getting more excited. I am waiting for the game, because i am a huge fan and i havent played GTA 4 yet. I played all others, from Grand Theft Auto to GTA San Andreas. I will be in the stores on the 3rd (i live in europe) and be the first to buy GTA 4 in my city. One thing to do against waiting is to countdown.
