Countdown Posted December 1, 2008 Share Posted December 1, 2008 That clock has nothing to do with the Activation servers though, it's just counting down to midnight 2nd Dec, I'm trying to find somewhere that says the time activation servers will unlock the game but so far i see nothing. For all anyone knows the game wont unlock to 11pm on the 2nd Depends does it mean that it will be released 2nd in US (local time) - e.g. NY still haves 10 and half hours to go. bishman82 Posted December 1, 2008 Share Posted December 1, 2008 I think all the people who think the game will unlock exactly on midnight are going to be disappointed, i hope it does activate as soon as possible as i will have my copy in the morning but i've seen stuff like this happen before like when a big update is coming out for a game on steam or a preloaded game is waiting to be unlocked. The steam forums are usually clogged up with 'OMG VALVE, I PAID FOR MY GAME AND IT'S 00:12 AND NOT UNLOCKED' messages, i'll usually give up waiting and go to bed and find out the new patch or whatever came at 4:00am Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Anyway, you can buy the 4850, its cheap and as fast as the 9800gtx. 216 stream procesor???, i dont understand a lot of this aspect. It OC'd so its opened up more and nearly hits similar performance to a GTX280 minus mem etc and for less cost. Ist what I have got recently, all I will do now in the new year is SLI the same rather than upgrade again. OC (Overclocking) tho decreases the lifetime of a graphicscard. Shadow Kipper Posted December 2, 2008 Share Posted December 2, 2008 Just my luck that my laptop had to go and get a BlueScreen Death Error this morning when I tried to install Service Pack 3 of XP. Stupid CD couldnt find my SATA drive as Windows CD's are still programmed to look for F:// Floppy Disk Drives so it wont find a SATA or HCDI device installed. After many hours, after viewing about 20 sites and downloading an all manner of drivers I thought it would work. Then i got another one. This one was whining about a "Fatal Error Has occured" WHAT?? A few hours later and I wondered what would happen if I plugged my 1TB External Hard Drive in when Booting the BIOS and it seemed to do the trick and now I'm left with a Laptop that still has all my documents (thank God) but they arent set in the Admin user's C:// for some reason. I'm currently updating and installing drivers I am missing (cost me 20GBP) Anyway, in a nutshell, I have about 24 hours to get everything ready for the Steam release and even then I can only hope that my specs are at least playable (they appear it but I cant be sure) Word to you all: Make Final Perapations including Driver and Software Checks along with BIOS and System Updates and Partition Scans. You dont want to go through what I did, and if you have, you will know what it feels like to think that not only have you lost ALL your photos, videos, programs files (without disks) and music and THEN consider paying just to get it fixed but still missing the things you really want back.
