Snow in DLC

I was just thinking, how cool would it be to have more season weather as part of the DLC. Especially snow would rock. I love NYC in the winter so... What do you think? Could it really be an option and would you like it?

That would be cool. I was kinda afraid to ask this--because I am sure it was my just imagination. But I could've sworn there were only one or two sections in the game when I bought it where the leaves had turned rather than green. Now it seems like all the leaves have turned and LC really looks like Autumn all over. I suppose it would have to be something linked to the clock on the system or something that downloaded from XBL. Again, ludicrous I'm sure. But I swear I remember thinking it was odd only a few areas had the fall colors when I first got it--now it's everywhere.

I was just thinking about this a little while ago while playing IV and I think it would be pretty awesome to have snow in the game at certain times or missions throughout the game.

Bully had the feature and done it quite well. It would be great exploring Liberty City covered in snow. Seeing Star Junction filled with decorations and lights for Christmas (maybe even a giant Chirstmas Tree!) and stuff would look great especially at night.

Peds would work hard building unique snowmen only to have them meet Mr. Enforcer. Or better yet Mr. Heli Blade.

 

Snowballs would be sweet, you could throw them at people and the cops wouldn't be bothered unless they were your target. Also random patches of black ice, frozen ponds and pools, and stabbing people with icicles.

Snow would be fun... for a while. The driving in GTA IV is tough enough as it is, imagine how slippery it would be then with snow? I'd probably would end up mowing down a whole block of people without intending to... hm. that acually might be alright. it would be hilarious to have the cops slipping around, too. Yeah I mean it would have to either be really short sessions eg. lasting only a day in the game or it would have to be a cheat. If it lasted for very long periods of time it could get very annoying.

Having snoball fights would be fun especially if everyone in the entire street fight, lol. If there was frozen pools, you should be able to skate on them. And stabbing people with icicles? That would be cool because the evidence would melt...

Well me being from Queens NYC I can honestly say when it snows here it's like a totally different place, especially when we get blizzards. It gets really quite and peaceful, but at the same time you could hear the ambient sounds of sirens from the NYPD and FDNY around you

along with big bursts of wind smacking your face, and the rumbling of the MTA buses and trains passing. I love NY for that every season gives you a different feeling in NY. Christmas here is THE BEST IN THE WORLD hands down!

 

PC mods are gonna be awesome, if someone wants to make a snow mod for GTA IV I would download that sh*t ASAP lol

I don't know how skating would work out though. They'd have to have some way of putting skates on right at the ice, but not make it an awkward transition. Like, you wouldn't put them on and walk around on land before you go there, but you wouldn't just walk on the ice and have them appear instantaneously. Maybe if there was a kiosk where you could rent them and then press LB to put them on once on the ice or something. Or if you saw a pair lying by the ice you could press LB to put them on.

 

I'd have fun bailing out of a car and sliding across the whole pond taking out skaters along the way. Haha, maybe it would be possible to bust through the ice and your health would very slowly deteriorate while in the freezing water. I would just watch people skate around and randomly fall through some thin ice or have some good laughs pushing people in a self-made hole and plugging it up with a blista compact

Yeah, like if you stand still on the ice right when you walk on it, he would put skates on, but if you walked/ran for a few feet on the ice you would keep your normal kicks.

 

What about when you get smashed off the ice by a car and land on the road though? He'd have to pull a "vanishing motorcycle helmet upon entering a vehicle" or something.

I love snow! I remember discussing this topic last year around New Year. I reminisced about walking through snow as Niko and going to [email protected] It would add fun-ism to the game instead of going over 600 days in the game and having it constantly being fall! lol
