GamerShotgun
Lol... I'll purchase this today or tomorrow, and post infos. But I don't really like GameStar, because they like to make up sh*t, what isn't true at all...
topeira
Lol... I'll purchase this today or tomorrow, and post infos. But I don't really like GameStar, because they like to make up sh*t, what isn't true at all... i also didnt know the game went gold. it feels like this article about IV is not a review or it is but with an older version of the code, but i dont feel like it matters. personally i wouldnt care if it is. we would love to hear what has been stated about the differences between the console version and the PC version (we know all there is to know about the console version so telling about the basics is not needed, im sure). i wonder if there are other upgrades of gameplay we havent heard of. we all know the game looks better and has an editor and "expanded MP", but we want more in depth details. what I care about the most is to know if the game is mod-able. strangely i doubt that it is. most games that come out lately do not support modding. we are eagerly anticipating your impressions of the article, man. GamerShotgun
Hmm, I've got the scans... Don't get your hopes up, I don't think it'll have anything more than an in-depth look at the replay editor...

GamerShotgun
Hmm, I've got the scans... Don't get your hopes up, I don't think it'll have anything more than an in-depth look at the replay editor... Scans are not allowed, but please sum up the info... I know, I'm summing it up right now... Just wait a lil' bit The infos: - They've mentioned that Rockstar is working on fixing bugs, which were apparent in the X360 and PS3 versions. - Some of the licensed tracks which were in the console version didn't make it to the PC port. This is because of the new replay editor, since they needed to purchase a new license, in which the original authors provide the rights to upload movies with their tracks on YouTube... This answers our question about, why YouTube has removed some videos which were filmed directly from GTA IV. - It's confirmed that the game has been worked on since they've started working on the console versions. - The graphics are incredible. Not only the streets and interiour textures have been updated, but the character textures too. Also the magazine mentions that the trees look more realistic, and you can even see how the sun rays between tree leaves. And of course... the draw distance is much higher, than it was in console versions... (This applies to both the map and AI) - They also talk a lot about the replay editor, which can be accessed through our cellphone. Nothing new really, they are just talking about how impressive it is, and say that it can be controlled with a gamepad too. - Unfortunately they didn't tell anything new about the game's multiplayer system, just that it has extra filters.. no information about player counts. BTW, they already knew the PC system requirements, so this can easily be a later version of the game... also I think there are some new pictures, so I'll post those pics here (without the pages of course, since it would be "illegal') Edited November 15, 2008 by MasterK

Crysis, Far Cry 2 and Stalker: Clear Sky all have them under Windows XP in directx 9. Thanks a lot for the summery TC.

Couldn't they just leave out the tracks from the editor only, so it would be impossible to make videos with copyrighted songs? Oh well, it is fine to me if I can upload directly to YouTube(kinda like Spore).

Smiler-Online
Why the hell do the reviewers expect us PC gamers to have played the Console Version? I ain't gonna buy a console just for one game.

mkey82
Well we can now look forward to Custom Soundtracks. We had that custom stuff before along with excellent in-game soundtrack. It just isn't the same, I like those commercials and perky comments. It's what helped making the experience great.

I think mkey meant that we've had the custom soundtrack option in previous GTA games as well, which is nice because you can hear commercials & news inbetween tracks. Which you can't if you listen to your stuff using WinAmp or something. And I totally agree. Just kind of worries me that there's only one station (Independent FM?) for your custom stuff. Could there be a track/size limit on it?

CharmingCharlie
Ok I seem to have missed the bit where custom tracks were confirmed. I really don't think you should get your hopes up on this, I too would love a custom radio station but I can't see them putting one in for the PC. In previous GTA's the custom radio station option appeared in both the PC and box version because both had a hard disc with which to store music at the time there was no viable way for a PS2 to store music so it didn't get a custom radio station. This time around all three formats have some way of storing MP3's to play on a custom radio station yet Rockstar chose not to do it. So I don't think the PC version will have the feature either, unless I am wrong and it has been confirmed then "whoopy doo in ya face console kiddies" etc etc.
