Stefan.
We don't really have official shopping holidays in Australia, but on the night of the 23rd in Melbourne, shops and malls are usually open all night to allow shoppers to shop. One of the biggest malls in the southern hemisphere is open all night, and a few years ago my mum and I went there at about 1:00 a.m. in the morning, and it seemed as it if was in the middle of the day! kerouac.
Canada seems to export all it's deal seekers a little south of the border, making our cities generally more peaceful for a few days.

jimmy.
Holy f*ck. At a Walmart a few towns over, a greeter got trampled to death while opening the doors at 5 AM. This holiday and the hyperconsumerism of McChristmasTM is so unhealthy; It seems like this kind of stuff happens nearly ever black Friday somewhere in this country. http://www.dailymail.com/News/NationandWorld/200811280260 Fleming said an estimated 2,000 people had gathered in line around 5 a.m. as the store was preparing to open. People in the rear of the line began pushing, cascading the people in the front into the doors, which were knocked off their hinges, Fleming said. Four other Walmart shoppers at the Valley Stream store were taken to hospitals Friday morning. A 28-year-old pregnant woman was taken to a hospital for observation, and three other shoppers suffered minor injuries and were taken to hospitals for treatment, and they were expected to be released. Shoppers who surged into the store were asked to leave by Walmart workers, some of them crying and visibly upset, said one shopper, Kimberly Cribbs, of Far Rockaway. Though rumors circulated among the shoppers that someone had been badly injured, people ignored the Wal-Mart workers' requests that they stop shopping, move to the front of the store and exit, Cribbs said. "They kept shopping. It's not right. They're savages," said Cribbs. These people are like children.
Jesus'En'Hitler420
THOSE f*ckING ANIMALS WHAT IS HAPPENING TO THIS WORLD?????????????? Every last one of those people should be charged with something, manslaughter, reckless endangerment, gathering in public without a permit (Meh, f*ck shoppers), take your pick and slap it to them. I don't normally think the law should throw its weight around, but in this case I'd be throwing the book at every last person that stampeded into that store. beavis
Just WTF?! -- Two people were killed in a shooting inside a Toys "R" Us in Palm Desert, Calif., on Friday, one of the busiest shopping days of the year, according to media reports. The Los Angeles Times reported that the shooting, some 120 miles east of Los Angeles, may have stemmed from an argument between two groups of shoppers. So-called Black Friday is the traditional starting point for the holiday-shopping surge. http://www.marketwatch.com/news/story/two-...7F9FE4BF4F04%7D

If you're going to get killed over a toy, at least make it a cool toy. And wal mart? Who stands in line overnight to go shopping at wal mart? The place is essentially a warehouse thats open to the public, they have no soul, and most of the products they sell are crap. Anyone who stood outside wal mart all night to go shopping is a goddamn cretin (and a failure at the art of shopping). The wrong people died and got injured when that mob stormed. Too bad they didn't call the police, and lock everyone inside for questioning. Or don't question them, just keep them locked inside all day, for the sole purpose of ruining their day. Attorney General
Holy f*ck. At a Walmart a few towns over, a greeter got trampled to death while opening the doors at 5 AM. Jesus Christ. Can you imagine having to call this poor guy's family and telling them that a frenzy of materialistic soccer moms trampled the man on their way to the TV isle? He died for what? So some asshole can buy his rotten little bastard of a son the green Power Ranger at half price? Not only does this make my blood boil...it makes me truly ashamed to live in a country where mindless consumerism takes precedent over someone's life. The fanatics who continued to shop after being notified that they just murdered a man should not only be forced to get therapy, but serve some serious time. The whole f*ckin' lot of 'em. TheSpankerDom
I'm a pagan(not heathen) so i dont really buy in to the material christmas sh*t. My dad on the other hand took me around and we went shopping for family(I tell people to not buy me gifts due to my view on the world, if they do i return the compliment with a " non religious, like you gift" a couple months after xmas) The lines were insane, but the deal were decent. I find the best time to buy is the week after xmas when retailers are getting rid of extra stock.
