xNamexTakenx
I really don't know where to put this, but I recently got an HDTV and hooked up my PS3 to it, via HDMI cable. Whenever I play a game though, the edges seem to look fuzzy. It happened with my Standard TV, too. But, I don't know how to fix it. Does anybody know how? I tried adjusting all the display settings on my PS3. What are the best settings? I don't know if it will help, but my TV is a Samsung 40" 1080p/30,000 megapixels. Any help would be appreciated. tj11
1080i is wonderful for still images, but once things get in motion, the edges will get fuzzy. Upgrade your TV to 1080p.

WolfenDesign 3200
Quick question before I help you out. Do you get a 720p resolution even though you're TV is 1080p HD? My TV is a Toshiba 1080p LCD HD. I'm using HDMI, I'm Sony, and the max resolution for GTA4 is 720p. Mabye thats why you get it. The same thing happenned to my Bravia X 42". It's not the Sony or the TV, because it automatically sets itself to 1080p when on the XMB or when playing Gran Turismo 5 Prolouge. The "blocky" edges never bother me after about ten mins of gameplay. Edited November 14, 2008 by WolfenDesign 3200

WolfenDesign 3200
I would've thought all modern day LCD's, from past experience, display the changed resolution in a liitle message box. Every HD TV I've seen does this, so why not yours? To be honest, I thought it was the game - even the system, but my 360 friend has the same problem. He's got a MASSIVE LCD HD! BTW. What console ARE you using anyway?
xNamexTakenx
I'm using PS3. What do you mean changed resolution? Like when you turn on the PS3? Yes, it displays that. But, it doesn't say anything about 720p. It just says one thousand something x1080.
WolfenDesign 3200
I think we've just lost each others thoughts, if that makes sense. Lets just make it easy, post a video on Youtube, showing you turning on you're TV, then to GTAIV running. But before that, try going into the display settings and turning off all display resolutions except for the 1080p. Sorry if I'm not really helping you, it's just hard to help someone online. Goldrusher
Blablabla. It's not your tv, it's the game. That's how the game is designed. It's a little blurry. Download for example the Uncharted demo and it will be razor sharp.
xNamexTakenx
I think I found the problem, but I'm not too sure. I went to the Game Settings and changed some sh*t around. I don't have IV currently because I lent my friend it. But, I played Fallout 3 on it yesterday and it was amazing! The graphics were intense. So, I think I've found the problem, but I won't actually know if I did until I play IV. Maybe IV is the problem. I think we've just lost each others thoughts, if that makes sense. Lets just make it easy, post a video on Youtube, showing you turning on you're TV, then to GTAIV running. But before that, try going into the display settings and turning off all display resolutions except for the 1080p. You know what? I might try that. I might try turning everything off except for 1080p. But, I'll do it when I get my copy of IV back. But, I seriously think the option in the Game Settings did the trick. I'm not sure if its just IV because it happened on my SR2, too. Maybe I should try it on that game and see what happens. Anyway, I don't think I could post a vid on Youtube, either since I don't have a capture card or any type of video camera. But, thanks for the help anyway, guys.
