-maddog-
I have been playing BF2 smoothly for 2 years. but now sometimes i get f*cked up graphics, Crash To Desktop and "Crash to reboot" it is extremely annoying! i tried installing a never Nvidia driver but it didnt help. First time i had this issue i blew away some dust that was in my cabinet, and it helped. But once again the problem has returned! Did anyone else experience this problem? i googled the issue and found a few solutions, but none helped. and it wouldnt surprise me if there were lots of causes to these things happening! Wolf68k
The sudden reboot part can be answered. Go to Start->Control Panel->System->Advanced->Startup and Recovery->Settings then uncheck Automatically restart. Click OK until you're out and restart for the changes to take effect. Next time it happen you'll get a blue screen (aka BSOD or blue screen of death), write down everything it says and you can tell us about it here and you can get more answers. In the mean time get memtest86 http://www.memtest.org/ and run that for at least 1 Pass, there are 10 tests per pass. Or really stress it and set it to run while you're at school/work and when you come back you can see if there are any errors. You can use either the floppy or the CD. There is a USB thumbdrive option but it's kinda complex to get it to work.
