i am on a Francis Mcreary mission where I am supposed to kill his brother Derrick but I just got a call from Derrick telling me to kill the cop. In real life if given the choice I would kill the cop but who offers the best benefit. I don't need money so.

If you kill Derrick you get to phone Francis to clear minor wanted levels.

Well, thing is, it's cool how you can lose minor wanted levels and everything, but all it takes is a quick drive around the block to lose minor wanted levels in GTA IV anyway. If you are driving when you call him, you'd probably of lost the cops by the time you'd started the call anyway.

I think you lose the ability after a while. But I killed Derrick first. I think it's best to kill Francis though because the McCreary family hated Francis and are more happy when Francis is dead.

If you prefer to have an advantage then kill Derrick for Francis' police thing, but you could also dat Kik from LoveMeet cause I think she has the ability as well.

If you have a good relationship with Kiki [lawchick], she might be very handy, she sometimes helps you with up to three stars..Francis is a dick..

Personally I killed Francis as he threatens to black mail you (Niko) should you not kill Derrick. To elaborate on what Khal said, if you call Francis whilst on top of the building facing both of them on the park bench he will then offer more money should you decide to kill Derrick.
