TheRoper
Not an expert on fish, but I'm pretty sure you shouldn't get salt-water fish, which kinda sucks since those are the best ones. One of my friends in middle school had a fish tank running along a 12ft span of wall in his kitchen, above the counter and below the overhead cabinets. It was so sick. And he had a bunch of tropical fish in it and even a little shark. I want that. slightly off-topic, here's a somewhat amusing video rant about fish: $$$ MAKE MONEY WITH NEOBUX $$H

fuckindumass
Jack Dempseys. You won't have to buy food for them until the goldfish are gone, and it's fun to watch. Edited November 13, 2008 by fuckindumass

Drag_Drift
I've got 2 Flower horns in a tank, and in the garden we have Koi fish and Janitor fish. Obviously, the fish in the tank are the prority to be taken care of. Make sure you have the right amount of salt(if it's salt-water fish), proper oxygen levels in the water, and the filter is proportional to the size of the tank. Hope this helps. unopescio
I used to keep fish when I was 8, then I had to move to a different country so I gave them all to a friend about a week or so before we packed up and left. As I was saying my last goodbyes to him a day or so before we left I asked how my fish were doing. He said they were all dead.
Voodoo
My friend needed a place to stay for a few weeks after moving out of the dorms so I let him crash on my couch. He had dismantled his tank and put his fish in a 5 gallon plastic bucket with a bubbler temporarily while he looked for a new place. A few days into his stay, he changed his mind about setting the tank up again and asked me if I wanted his fish. Of course I said yes. It took a bit of finesse to fillet the tiger-barbs but they were actually quite delicious. I rolled them in flour and pan sauteed them in butter with a pinch of salt, some garlic and a little ground black pepper. There wasn't enough to make a proper sauce so I ate them without. Tasted a little like perch. The kuli loaches and the pleco went to the kitty, sashimi style. Yummy.
