YoungGun
Looks pretty cool. Though I have only needed to use GFW Live in Kane & Lynch Dead Men.

zbos
It's not just new design, they said they will add marketplace for PC, where you will be able to buy F3 addon and after a while even GTA4 addon! So it looks like not only xbox360, but PC will get GTA4 addon too, with some delay ofcourse. But wait a minute, to buy addon is fair? I remember Team Fortress 2 addons from Valve, they were free, and Valve said that they even had sales' boost every time they had released it. TheRealPcGamer
Wah I just forgot that the new GFWL is released yesterday. Hmm not a very big change. Just more PC-like than console. But the features are the same.

Pat
they've also done away with the tiered subscription service for PC gamers. No more "Gold" service – all of this is free But of course Gold still requires a monthly payment for the Xbox 360. Really, Microsoft, get your sh*t together. You've got enough money as it is. Paying to play Peer-to-Peer = fail. Although I'm one of the many suckers that does pay for it.
Pat
As am I. No offense, but I have a feeling they're removing the cost for PC gamers because much more people have Xbox LIVE subscriptions. Lots of subscriptions means lots of money, and telling Microsoft to give up money is practically impossible. Then again, more people means much more retards, so that's in no way a good thing. True, not everyone can afford/cares to build/buy a gaming rig. But on the other hand I think M$ stopped charging for GFWL because they saw that PC gamers won't put up with it. They'll just play other games online for free, or maybe even find a way around the 'tardism . Whereas on Xbox 360, most people don't know any better, and even if they do they don't have a choice anyway.

OysterBarron
this is what they say on gamespot. I think when they say about GTAIV they are talking about a didgital download of the actual game and not the DLC Microsoft mulls full PC game downloads By Tom Magrino, GameSpot Posted Nov 13, 2008 1:57 am GMT GFW - Live interface update lands tomorrow, desktop Marketplace slated for December; Fallout 3 DLC first in the hopper. Next week, Microsoft will launch the much-anticipated New Xbox Experience dashboard overhaul for its console-based online service. Features included in the update are Mii-like avatars, Netflix's on-demand movie service, full-game hard-drive installation, and the ability to order Xbox 360 games via Xbox.com. GFW - Live's new look. With NXE in the queue for console gamers, Microsoft also said that PC gamers would be receiving some love this year, thanks to a series of updates to its Games for Windows - Live service. The first of those updates entailed dropping the Gold-level subscription fees to allow free access to all previously available features. The publisher said that, later in the fall, it would also be overhauling GFW - Live's user interface as well as launching a PC companion to the Xbox Live Marketplace. Today, the publisher confirmed that the first of those planned changes--the new UI--will be available as a free update through the service tomorrow. Microsoft also narrowed down the release window for the launch of the GFW - Live Marketplace, saying that PC gamers will be able to download trailers, demos, and add-on content beginning in December. When the PC Marketplace does go online later this year, Microsoft confirmed that Bethesda Softworks' best-selling Fallout 3 will be the first game to offer downloadable content--the same DLC as will be offered on the Xbox 360. Other games signed on to take advantage of the GFW - Live Marketplace include Grand Theft Auto IV, James Bond 007: Quantum of Solace, Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War II, Red Faction: Guerrilla, and Battlestations: Pacific. In a debriefing on the service, Microsoft also confirmed for GameSpot that downloadable content is only the beginning of the publisher's digital-distribution efforts through the desktop-oriented Marketplace. The publisher also said that it plans to offer full-game downloads through the Marketplace "somewhere down the road." Unfortunately, Microsoft was reticent to provide more details on this service or when it will be rolled out.
