DeeperRed
Hi, I am in the process of upgrading all my parts in my computer one bit at a time and transfering the oold parts to build other computers (Recycling is damn good ). I currently have a 680i Mobo with a Q6600 at @ 2.8Ghz with 4 Gigs of DDR 2 ram and 2 8800ultra's in Sli. Good enough, Yes but I am doing an upgrade. Originally I was going to with a 780i mobo, Q9550 and a GTX 280 BUT I have decided to take a new route. Instead I am purchasing a Asus P6T 58X Motherboard, 4GB of DDR 3 (1333) Ram and a Core i7 920. This is becuase I like to be an early adaptor and the Core i7 is cheaper then the Q9950 though it may have slower clockspeeds, The 920 is an amazing overclocker with people reaching 4GHz on a Termalright 120 Ultra which I am also purchasing though I am only going to OC to 3.4GHz. As for The GTX 280, I am holding off from that aswell becuase in Q4 nVidia are releasing the 55Nm revision and this will no doubt have a GTX280G2 in t, so I am going to hold off for now The reason I am making this thread is becuase I am going to post a review and benchmarks of the Core i7 also if anyone has any suggestions about Card upgrades aswell I would be happy to here. Also just to point out something extreamly awesome All 58X motherboards (Core i7 motherboards) support SLi AND CrossfireX
