MahoganyJoint Posted November 10, 2008 Share Posted November 10, 2008 (edited) do you remeber the days before gta4 came out, every time a preview came out, or R* posted an official video, people would spend days just talking about. then people would lie about rumors (e.g. you could walk into the empire state, work at burgur shot or ride a flying uni-cycle), dont get me wrong some of R* imagery is misleading (F.gloves). in fact the hype made people want gta sooo much that when it did come out they hated it because it didnt let you ride a flying uni-cycle. but i miss not knowing what gta was going to be like these forums have gone downhill because no one knows what to talk about and makes random threads 'like this one' i need that HYPE back 'plz dnt gimme any crap for posting this thread' Edited November 11, 2008 by MahoganyJoint Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Btw, fingerless lgoves really aren't hype, they were just decided unfit(for some reason) for the game. People have raised so much sh*t about them that Rockstar is adding them for the PC version. But man, before the game came out... those were the days. Before I knew this game was overhyped and overrated garbage. Seriously rockstar, I feel sorely let down. I know this game is supposed to have a more realistic approach, I prepared myself for that and welcomed the approach, until I played it that is. I mean where is the realism? Where are these realistic elements? If impressive ragdoll physics is the only idea they have then I'm not impressed. It's like playing GTA SA only with 95% of it's gameplay features wiped out. Well I aint doing that again. Not going to fall for Rockstar's hype the next time. And I say Rockstar's hype, why? We all know they payed big bucks for these 10/10 reviews it got. An absolute joke. Next time Rockstar, make us a real next gen game which offers new experiences, not a watered down excuse for one. I hate admitting all of this, but it's true. But I trust you guys to respect my opinion. Rockstar's "approach" wasn't to create a carbon-copy of The Sims, or a Sim-based GTA game. Rockstar never let on more than what the audience had in their heads. It was just "assumed" by all those you see moaning today about how awful the game supposedly is. But I trust you guys to respect my opinion. gta 4 is a great game, no doubt but it dosent have that warm gta feel that all the previous gta's have had. I remember news being posted so frequently-there is no dead space, you can walk in so many buildings, pedestrians react to everything, the game looks amazing... Those, and the updated graphics, are the only reasons the game is any good. After the missions, there's nothing to do except for multiplayer and even THAT is flawed.
