Gamatoz
Every time I play San Andreas, the game takes 30 seconds loading from the Nvidia to Rockstar publicity, another 30 seconds to enter the menu, and 30 seconds every time I pause / return to the game! My graphic card is updated, I'm running Windows Vista Home Premium. Edited November 11, 2008 by Gamatoz
*asim*
Please post your complete system specs. Try running the game in Win98 Compatibility mode. Try deleting the .set file from the User Files folder. Have you purchased the game or downloaded it? Are you using a No-CD crack? Are you using any mods? My graphic card is actualized, I'm running Windows Vista Home Basic. That might be because overload on the CPU. Just end some useless processes and that will ease the system and enhance it's speed maybe.
Gamatoz
Not a CPU overload, I'm pretty sure. Windows Vista Home Premium Intel Core 2 Duo @ 2.50 GHz T9300 Nvidia GeForce 8400M GS 4 GB RAM Also, I forgot to mention it's a laptop. If you need more specs, please tell. I've downloaded it first, but after formatting my computer, I purchased it. Both versions have the same problem. No, I'm not using a No-CD crack. Spider-Vice
Umm... Gamatoz
Umm... Maybe Vista is sh*tting your CPU, try on a friends PC to see if it does the same... The thing is, this CPU should handle San Andreas pretty well... It's good with DMC4 in the same conditions, and it's much more demanding... Btw, the same happens with Vice City
Girish
Try running the game in Windows 98 compatibility mode and turn off UAC from Control Panel. The 8400M GS isn't that good a card for gaming, then again, most laptops aren't meant for gaming. I hope you aren't using mods.

GTA used to work, but after I formatted my computer for the first time (some time ago), it stopped working... PS: Done all you said, no changes... cacarla
Try re-installing the game and see if it makes any difference. I you have a PC, test the CD there and if it goes smooth, then it's your laptop thats causing this..
Girish
Also, make sure that you have the latest video driver updates.

I you have a PC, test the CD there and if it goes smooth, then it's your laptop thats causing this.. My other pc runs San Andreas smoothly, and the CD is new. Both the downloaded and bought versions have this problem here. I formatted my computer a few times, and none of them made San Andreas work. (BTW, I formatted using the System Recovery that came with the PC)

Yes it does, in Portuguese there's a word that looks like "actualized" which means updated in American and English. let your hopes and dreams turn into burning fire! Gamatoz
Finally solved it It was all caused by a program that came with the computer, called "Quick Play", from HP. It plays media and games, and was interfering with the game. All you need to do is kill the process "QPService". Hope this helps anyone with the same problem
