The system requirements laboratory is TOTAL BULLSH*T. I know from personal experience.

Look at this.

This is because my CPU suppodesly isn't powerful enough.

Yougamers (which is a lot better) says that I pass the RECOMMENDED by a loooong term, even if my CPU's raw power is a little lower than the recommended.

The system requirements lab told me I couldn't run the orange box. Oh lookie, everything is on high, textures on very high, full antialiasing and anisotropic filtering!

All set for GTA IV. Woot! rah.gif

You still can't beat me, girshb. biggrin.gif

Man your screen is crazy. Do you play up close on your PC or do you play from your couch? I don't know how 32 inches in-my-face gaming would be like...

Is this true that dualCores are (actually) better for the gaming than the quadCores?

It is only true because most games so far have not taken advantage of the two extra cores on a quadcore processor. At least 99% of games are optimised to run on a duo2core so technically it makes sense to just buy the fastest duo2core you can get.

However it seems that there might be a shift to Quadcores sooner rather than later, if GTA 4 is a tremendous success we will see more and more games utilising all 4 cores on the quad. I welcome this, PC gaming has always been about pushing boundaries and it is nice to see GTA 4 being a boundary pushing game on the PC once again.

At the end of the day if you have a decent duo2core and a decent GPU 8800 or higher you are guaranteed a better gaming experience than the console version. If you meet the minimum requirements then you are guaranteed to get the same experience as the consoles. Now if you have a PC below the requirements you can expect the game to run worse than the consoles.

Thanks for the answer.

I think I'll buy a quad only if I feel it's necessary (or if the price gets a super prommotion for christmas).

i saw a video 5 minutes ago on youtube were someone played crysis on a geforce 6200!

but the requirements say that you need a geforce 6600 to play it!

dont trust all system requirements!

PS: sorry i cannot speak english very good

My computer couldn't even run the little applet that tells you how good it is. It just sat there loading and loading.

I guess I fail

My computer doesn't meet minimum becuase i don't have Core 2 Duo and im happy to have slower cuz i will get Core 2 Duo

and very good GPU!

Well if your sig is true, then only thing you will be able to do with your brand new core2duo and gpu is use them as room decorations... sarcasm.gif

DON'T MATTER THE TELETUBBIES THAT'S MY LITTLE BROTHER'S Hahaha biggrin.gif

why the requirements are higher than farcry 2, fallout 3,deadspace and crysis? mercie_blink.gif

i mean crysis has much better graphics but lower requirements.

That we don't know, but what we do know is that systems with lower than minimum should be able to play it because the 8600GT is slower than the 7900 series.

I get about 16-23ish FPS in Far Cry 2 with medium graphics and vegitation and fire all set to very high at 1024x768 and get 35-42fps when most settings are on low except for shadows and bloom is enabled.

i get on my x1650 pro(radeon) 23 fps on farcry 2 with low at physics and those effects and the rest on very high

at 1024x768.

i hope that i can run gta iv too.

i now that the card is lower that requirements but i hope that i can run it with low or medium graphics.

i just want to enjoy the game not the graphics!

Apparently my Nvidia 8600 GS doesn't meet the minimum requirements dontgetit.gif , but the rest seems to be okay...

The other site says I do pass the minimum recs

user posted imagedontgetit.gif

the 8600gt/M GS is slower than the 7900 series.... so technically below minimum which means people who have lower graphics cards than required should be able to run it okay. I say a 6800GS/GT should be able to run this.

I think that too and i already think that the requirements are fake

why the requirements are not on the official GTA IV website?

I don't think they are fake I think Nvidia and Intel paid R*big $$$ to make the requirements high so people will go out and buy better video cards and processors ect.... when in actual fact the game will run with lower end video cards and probably lower end processors like a regular Dual Core and potentially P4 3.0GHZ with Hyper threading

f*ck THAT!!!

nVidia f*ck Intel up their stupid asses for mony!

And R* receive 1200 miles blowjob to get f*cked for money!

Where is the world gone?

These requires are tooooooooooooooooooooooooo high!!

i heard that the onsoles are running the trafic at 33% if im right

You heard well

It explains why Liberty City is such a ghost town...

This might also be a good time to remind everyone that some system requirements are given simply so they can cover their asses. Otherwise, you end up with something like the whole "Intel/Vista" debate.

Edited by .:Alex:.

Yes, the system requirements are just given to help the player to make himself an idea of what kind of pc is needed.

Hell, somedays ago, I saw someone that was making a nervous caca because his cpu had 0.2 Ghz less than the minimal cpu. That was ridiculous.
