And why a desktop with Pentium D 3.2GHz, 2GB of RAM and a ATI x1600 512MB runs it at medium?

People, will my PC run GTA IV? My PC is Intel e2140 Dual Core 1.6 GHz with 2 GB of RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3450 card.

VIdeo card is below minimum requirements and so is your processor since it's not a core 2 duo

I have an older system and I'm thinking about upgrading so I can run GTA. I want to keep the costs as low as possible because I'm not a hardcore gamer, I only play COD5 and this. Here's my system specs:

Dell XPS 400

Windows XP SP3

Intel Pentium D (dual-core) 3.0 GHZ

1 GB DDR2 SDRAM (533MHz)

Nvidia GeForce 6800 (256MB PCI Express x16)

Obviously the graphics card and CPU need to be upgraded, but I'm not sure which type of each to get. It appears a lot of people prefer nvidia graphics cards, but they seem to be quite a bit more expensive than the ATI's. Any suggestions on good graphics cards and processors that won't put too big a dent in my wallet?

I just browsed dell.com and it seems to me it doesn't offer the best PCs on the market today. Where can I buy the best PC on the market today?

My CPU is the only thing that fails, I don't see how though because I can run Halo 2, Halo, Sims 2, and my internet provider all at the same time, and my CPU doesn't get bogged down at all? confused.gif

I have:

1 1/2 gigs of ram

512mb 1650ATI video card

Will my pc work with GTA IV? Everything else on my pc, Operating System, Hard Drive space, and everything else is fine.

Please answer me before Christmas Day, because I asked for it for Christmas, and I'm not 100% sure if I can bring it back after I open it and find out it won't work on my pc and then can't return it! tounge.gif

Thanks! biggrin.gif

I've owned every single GTA game made except for the first one and GTA IV! I loved GTA: San Andreas, and after reading up everything I can find and spending hours Google searching GTA IV I can't wait to play it! I'm just glad to find out that it can work on my system! smile.gif

Someone help me please I'm about to decide whether to buy the game and all I need to know is that my laptop can run the game properly (even on low settings).

Windows XP Profession SP2

Intel Core2Duo T7500 @ 2.2GHz

3 GB of RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT @ 512MB

I know the graphics card is the weakpoint but overall, will I be able to play the game and on what settings? Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks very much in advance. smile.gif

Your ram won't be enough to play it people say it crashes with 1.5GB Ram and if your CPU isn't a core 2 duo don't even bother trying to run this game

im planning to buy this lap:

HP 6830s, FU358ES, Intel Core 2 Duo T8400 (2.26 GHz, 3 MB L2 cache, 1066 MHz FSB), 17.0 WXGA+, ATI HD 3430 256 MB, 4096MB DDRII 800MHz, 250 GB 5400...

will it be able to run gta iv smoothly? particularly because of its weak graphic card?

thanks

I don't think so. The game takes 210 MB of graphic memory just to run, with the lowest settings possible (800x600, Low textures, View distance 1). And I doubt it would be smooth even then.

Nope, I need .2 more gHz.

WinXP SP2

AMD Athlon 64 3500+ 2.2gHz

1GB DDR

nVidia GeForce 8500 GT 512 MB

DX 9.0c

None of the testers I've run said anything about SP3 being "required".

Your graphics card is way below minimum requirements won't run well even though this game uses CPU you still need your GPU and that GPU just isn't powerful enough, it's less powerful than a 6600GT. I would suggest finding a laptop with at least a 8600M GT or ATI Mobility Radeon HD3650 in it

Don't even try to run it not only do you need .2 more GHZ you need a dual-core AMD not a single core AMD. Also graphics card is below the minimum and you need another 1GB of ram and yes you do need SP3 as you will get a load of errors with SP2

No, because the graphics card is integrated, even though GTAIV does use most of the processor you still need a half decent graphics card and yours is below the minimum. The processor is good to run it on low with a few sliders on medium

First about your ram if you already have DDR2 800 ram and add DDR2 533 ram it is going to slow your ram down to 533 speed so I would suggest finding more ram that is DDR2 800 ram because if you don't your ram will run slower.

Now for your system the game will run but that 8500GT is defiantly going to be a bottleneck and slow things down.
