With the PC you have now you will get medium low and if you upgrade your processor probably on high, but the AMDx2 processor use AM2 slots so you wouldn't be able to upgrade to Intel Processors only AMD x2 processors I think

I will buy very good CPU and GPU and about 3 gb of RAM. Is there a problem if my motherboard is rather old and not very performant ? Should I buy a new motherboard as well ?

First of all I have to say:

Excuse me! I Sent 2 Posts!

Second of all:

Your Answer:

Watch; There is 2 models of Main boards

................2-Normal

1-SLI......./

2-Normal/

.............\

...............\

.................1-Express

In SLI MDs;You can Install 2 or more VJAs

In Express MDs;You can Install And Upgrade your GPU for just 2X

In Normal MDs;U should Buy a New MD*.

---------

1-MD=Mother Board or Main Board.

Anyways for anyone who cares...here are my benchmark with 2 different vid cards.

First we have a BFG GeForce 9800GTX+ OCX

Statistics

Average FPS: 43.96

Duration: 37.17 sec

CPU Usage: 79%

System memory usage: 68%

Video memory usage: 92%

Graphics Settings

Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz)

Texture Quality: Medium

Render Quality: High

View Distance: 25

Detail Distance: 37

Hardware

Microsoft® Windows Vista Black Edition" 2009

Service Pack 1

Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX/9800 GTX+

Video Driver version: 178.24

Audio Adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)

Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

File ID: benchmark.cli

Next I used a BFG GeForce GTX 260 OC

Statistics

Average FPS: 38.60

Duration: 37.18 sec

CPU Usage: 76%

System memory usage: 64%

Video memory usage: 60%

Graphics Settings

Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz)

Texture Quality: Medium

Render Quality: Very High

View Distance: 32

Detail Distance: 70

Hardware

Microsoft® Windows Vista Black Edition" 2009

Service Pack 1

Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260

Video Driver version: 180.48

Audio Adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)

Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

File ID: benchmark.cli

I was also able to run GTA4 in HIGH settings with the GTX 260

Statistics

Average FPS: 35.76

Duration: 37.11 sec

CPU Usage: 74%

System memory usage: 75%

Video memory usage: 99%

Graphics Settings

Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz)

Texture Quality: High

Render Quality: Very High

View Distance: 32

Detail Distance: 70

Hardware

Microsoft® Windows Vista Black Edition" 2009

Service Pack 1

Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 260

Video Driver version: 180.48

Audio Adapter: Speakers (Realtek High Definition Audio)

Intel® Core2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz

File ID: Benchmark.cli

I don't believe the new drivers increases anything significant. As you can see, GTX 260 is able to give out the same performance as the 9800GTX+ at about 30% less load on the GPU along with Very High rendering Quality due to it's technical differences.

I've been wondering about buying the game and guys I REALLY need to know from any expert if I will be able to run it or I'll be wasting my money.

Specs:

Windows XP Profession SP2

Intel Core2Duo T7500 @ 2.2GHz

3 GB of RAM

ATI Mobility Radeon HD 2400 XT @ 512MB

Other note: I'm using a 14 inch laptop. I don't know whether a laptop and desktop would be any difference to the game's performance.

I've heard I meet most of the requirements except my graphics card is weak.

But now the question is: Will I be able to run the game with the OVERALL settings? And if I can, what level of settings? (I'm not expecting much here).

*BUMP*

Anyone can estimate what settings will I be able to play in as well? Please and thanks a lot really.

I can barely run GTA 4 on my P4 2.8Ghz HT @3.2Ghz , 1024mb 400, Sapphire X1950PRO 512mb AGP. (10% OC). Setings 1024X768 75Hz, Everything else on minimum sad.gif

It is playable, but knowing what kind of graphics other people get with monster setups gets me down!

The funny thing is that I played through Crysis and Warhead with "almost" MEDIUM . (NO AA of course tounge.gif ).

Is there a way to turn the shadows completely off in GTA 4? If that could happen, I believe that my p4 Veteran would cope far better

EDIT: Why does it say "player hater on my sign?

Your processor doesn't meet the minimum requirements since you have a dual-core not core 2 duo and there is a big difference between the two. Plus your video card is slower than the minimum 7900GS. Just because it shows a higher number series than the 7XXX series doesn't mean it's faster and your card is fairly slow. Slower than my 8600M GS and a 8500GT

Currently I have the following pc system

AMD Athlon 3000++ (socket 939)

Abit AV8

2GB DDR400 ram

320GB HD

64MB geforce Ti4200

I am thinking of an inexpensive upgrade. maybe just upgradethe graphic card without having to touch the motherboard and stuffs just to play gta4. Is it impossible?

Close, but unfortunately your computer does not meet the publisher's minimum requirements."

Well.........

@ First You Should change your PC's CPU-change it to 3Ghz and it's better than you Buy The Pentium IV;This one in a CPU which I have. biggrin.gif

Second the 9600 GT 2 G is better any way the nVidia is Much more Better.

third: Gigabyte Can Be Good for You;Because the Giga's Motherboard can support nVidia 9600 GT and CPU Intel-any models-3Ghz

My System is Awful and I wanna Update it
