Can someone tell me if this will run IV. If it will, how well will it work - high graphics? I started a thread recently but nothing as of yet. Thanks!

Ninja edit - The site is down atm, so ill copy and paste the specs below

CPU and Memory:

Intel Core i5 dual core 2430M processor.

2.5GHz processor speed.

4GB DDR3 RAM memory.

500GB SATA hard drive.

Display features:

15.6 inch widescreen display.

High definition display.

DVD optical drives:

DVD+RW/DVD-RW(read/write).

Dual layer.

Graphics:

Dedicated graphics.

NVIDIA GeForce GT 520MX with 1GB DDR3 VRAM graphics card with 1GB memory.

I say Medium settings at most.

Do you have a certain budget? also is gaming a priority?

Not even medium the desktop version of the GT520 will only do low/medium so the M edition will do Lowest but maybe with shadows on low etc.

Oh dear, a double post!

Not really, I've just seen your laptop specs, and you can't upgrade you laptop FYI. You'll need about $400 for a decent build.

Rizaki Koizumi

I have no f*cking clue.

I have this Acer Aspire laptop I just got. The specs are the following:

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 Bit

Intel Core i5 3317U @1.70GHz

6GB DDR3 SDRAM

Intel HD Graphics 4000

500GB HDD

Ran both the first one on the first page of this thread then i ran the System Requirements Lab "Can you RUN it?" piece... says I don't meet the minimum VRAM requirements. both will say I have either 64-128MB VRAM... dafuq?

I ran the Demo for Kane and Lynch 2 Dog Days on here with everything on high and I was getting somewhere around 30fps MINIMUM... and that's newer.

The VRAM on the built-in Intel GPU is about 1.7GB (at least that's what Windows is saying). Could GTA IV run on my laptop? Has anyone tested with that type of hardware?

And for the record - this is my laptop

If this laptop doesn't even have dedicated graphics card, I wouldn't bother trying out GTA4. it's not going to run well.

Your system should be able to run the game absolutely fine. I suggest you start a new topic, provide all information about your system, your benchmark settings, etc. and we'll try to help you.

Hey

My PS3 and PC both broke down within a week's interval. Yeah bad luck.

So couldn't afford to buy both machines again and decided to buy a laptop that could possibly handle GTA V..

I investigated on GTAFORUMS > GTA IV > PC Perfomrance

Then I boldly asked Rockstar about PC Requirements for GTA V. They replied:

Brian D, Sep 06 06:43 pm (EDT):

Hi XXXXXX,

Thank you for your mail! Unfortunately that information is not available yet. At this time there is no ETA. We sincerely appreciate your patience!

Have a great week.

Kind regards,

Brian

I'm not much into PC stuff. So I went out and bought a PC with what I believed to be a good processor and graphics card.

Tested it via GTA IV > PC Requirements and got this:

Intel® Core™ i7-3617 CPU @ 2.10GHz

2.1 GHz Performance Rated at: 5.25 GHz

4.1 GB RAM

Windows 7 64-bit Operating System

AMD Radeon HD 7670M

3D

Hardware T&L

Pixel Shader Version 5.0

Vertex Shader Version 5.0

Dedicated Video RAM 2.1 GB

Disk Space 652.6 GB

Apparently it's a little higher than the Recommended Requirements.

Do you guys think I'll be able to run GTA V with that? (Referring to the AMD card)

Cheers.

NewBorn PC Gamer.

p.s any PC controllers you recommend?

If Rockstar themselves don't know the exact requirements for GTA5, then why should we know? You must wait until R* gives some more info wink.gif

I thought you were talking about running GTA IV, my apologies.

Anyways it's true, R* themselves don't know the exact requirements, but if you want my opinion about it, and don't quote me on this, it may run a bit worse than GTA IV in terms of framerate.

No worries PrometheusX. But what intrigues me the most is that they didn't say something like ''GTA V requirements should be the same as for IV.'' Or something reassuring. So to speak. But anyway we'll see.

You just bought a very expensive laptop that SUCKS BALLS

Intel is good with the CPU not with the GPU

If your looking for a good computer get this one:

http://www.amazon.com/HP-p6-2100-Pavilion-...ywords=computer

The specs are so much better:

AMD Radeon HD 6450 2GB

AMD 2.8 GHz (Doesn't say like Llano or something its just AMD 2.8 GHz)

4GB Ram

Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits

1TB HDD

And if you don't have a monitor heres one:

http://www.amazon.com/Viewsonic-VX2450WM-L...eywords=monitor

Its 1920x1080 and its 24 inch

In total it will cost you $563.26 so you got a better computer with a 24 inch monitor the resolution is 1920x1080 and its $186.73 cheaper

Well the story about this laptop.... I essentially got it for free pretty much (college financial aid). I bought this laptop as a placeholder until I can build an actual rig that will run GTA IV at 60fps in 1080p at max settings (I wonder if the GTX 680 can do this now...). I will say this laptop runs a LOT f*ckING BETTER than my old Dell (has a Pentium 4, 512MB DDR SDRAM, 80GB HDD).

I was just wondering though with this laptop... I'll buy GTA IV from Steam just to mod the game and fiddle with it (though I'd have to downgrade to 1.0.4.0 and use the command line). One thing for sure is that this laptop would never run iCEnhancer just to save its life.

Also, I ran the Final Fantasy XIV Benchmark in its Low setting, the frame rates weren't something to write to home about, but it ran ok. And, as for the stuff I usually do (SA, StepMania, HD Video editing, etc.), quoting Officer Pulaski, she puts out like a pro.

MIKON8ERISBACK

My system specs are in my signature. I've had a copy of GTA IV on the PC since the day it came out but it wasn't until relatively recently that I got myself a PC with a video card even remotely capable of running it. I have myself an NVIDIA GTX 560 with an onboard sound card on an ASUS motherboard model number P8Z77V LX.

Once again, complete specs are in my signature.

Thanks for your support. smile.gif

EDIT: I took the test and it came back with flying colors. Thanks!

Yeah, it will run High settings normally, even with ENB. Just make sure to have Patch #4 installed for best performance.

Should run High settings easily smile.gif

Some ENB's will get lower FPS though.

It says my specs are way above recommended but it lags quite a bit even on very low settings.

IV is very bad optimized for PC, so the requirements written on the dvd box just isn't true. it's more like what they wanted to be the real requirements, but it's way too low
