Oh, and I'd just like to let you know that a GTX260, a supposedly high end card, is on par with a Radeon 5750 - a mid end card.

 

Stop talking f*cking sh*t man, I own a 260 216, and it's on par with a 5770, even surpasses it in many games.

 

Funny, considering the FPS I get with a 5770 at stock clocks is almost always faster than same game, same settings, with an overclocked 260.

There is no link, but I was wrong in a way I'll admit, because most DX11 games pretty much have to support 10 and 9 I think, because of people who don't have cards capable.

Not many games as of yet since it's pretty recent still, but it's way more than the amount of games when DX10 was around 8 months old, IMO.

 

 

And as for ATi, look around the forums, you'll see more problems with GTAIV on ATI hardware than you'll ever see on nvidia hardware. This doesn't rule out nvidia's own problems with the game, they're just nowhere near the problems you see with ATI hardware.

 

Just because one game has problems with ATi cards doesn't mean that nVidia is superior in every way. I still think the GT/S/X series is way overpriced for their performance, and I won't be buying one at all.

Folding is actually Nvidia's strong point, not ATi.

 

Can I just say that I've owned both ATi and Nvidia, my recent list includes 5850, 4850, 320MB 8800 GTX, 6800 GTX.

 

I have no brand loyalty, anyone who defends either fanatically is either blind or an idiot.

 

However, at the current gen ATi leads when it comes to price/performance ratio. In fact, the last gen with the 4 series is notorious for being a triumph over the GTX 200 series for the same reasons.

I really wanted to get a GTX 4 series but they're simply too expensive for their performance. Why get a GTX 470 when you can match it's performance with a 5850 for 60 quid less?

 

What you need to understand though is that up to a certain point, your graphics card will not help deliver more framerate for GTA4. It is still the CPU that makes the greatest difference.

Nvidia's Fermi arrived in April but both of the cards are much more expensive than their ATi equivalent.

Now they've released a slightly crippled version known as the GTX 465 but it's still same price as a 5850.

 

So let me get this straight, Nvidia releases a product 6 months after ATi, they turn out to be energy drinking electric heaters and they cost far more than their ATi equivalent. And you're telling me that Fermi is soon going to be more affordable than Intel motherboards?

With Can you run it test I failed for CPU on both minimum and recommended, other components meet both requirements.

 

I dont get it, minimum processor is AMD Athlon dual core on 2.4 GHz, my cpu is on 3.4 GHz and its Phenom.

 

Maybe its because my AM2+ motherboard doesnt seem to recognize my processor (But weirdly CPU-Z does) so it says AMD processor model unknown.

Shared system RAM doesn't count. And 192 MB sounds like its an integrated GPU, in which case all the RAM is system RAM..

I Had turned my settings to the lowest possible with clip capture turned off

and the game runs smoother for some time. But once it experiences even

a little lag, it slows down. I had applied the latest patch. What can i Do to

get a better frame rate? Can do it via commandline? Is there any software
