GTAF Radio was started many moons ago by Ottae and Rob. (then Rob_UK). It was a podcast style show that featured news about GTAF, mainly about its now extinct Public Gang Chat. After the PGC closed, news got less and less and the show got less frequent until it died out.

 

REBOOT?!

Ottae has decided to relaunch the show, this time with TenaciousD. as his co-host instead of Rob, who has gone on to pursuit real life ambitions. They hope to release a new episode every week or due, because it is now easier to record because of better software.

I actually don't recall it, but you guys had to explain the early gangs for mulitiplayer that Rockstar hadn't fully brought to fruition anyway.

I could record audio on my end, in MP Three or Wave, WMA formats.

I just starting using what I think is called Story Teller/Maker for Microsoft Windows, under the Plus additions, it lets you narrate slide shows and is very easy to use.

You can hear that classic Disturbed up on YouTube, along with all my other archives I got instore, many of the Earl Root radio show The Root Of All Evil. I was just listening to a best of we put together during the show's move to a new station.

I did some early DJing in school, everything we had was on catridges, no records, reel to reel or cassette. I figure it was mid Seventies at the time.

I'll try and get hold of a mic, I do have one somewhere, I'll do the guest speaking. My accent is even more horribly northern than yours.

Luckily I was buying a stereo recording mic for my camcorder use, to avoid the crummy built in ones, and I came to own the Radio Shack model No. 33-1065, discontinued in the 1990s.

Get one used, if you don't mind them on the large size, the nice thing is the mics seperate up in front to a wide 90 degree angle.

 

I would love nothing more then just spinning my favorite records on a station that doesn't cow-tow to corporate admen

Skype is too modern and expensive for me. Why not use Audacity?

There's Audio Recorder For Free that also makes use of sound card inputs. I like the fact that the MS slideshow tool does everything in an pre-set order, you can manipulate it if you don't want narration but prefer just a music track with visual stills.

Podcasts still take some time to download on dialup, but not as bad as video. The whole hour or Lazlow's show I D/Led was 22Mbs in size I think.

You sure know how to make me feel bad. ....after a good cry, I'll feel alright again. Right as rain.

Of course, the way things are going here, won't be long till I have no way to get online and you'll soon wonder where the Hell I am!

We use Skype to talk to each other, we used to use Audacity to record, but now we've got a program called MX Skype Recorder.

My mic suggestion would still be worthy unless you only use headsets. My sister's husband loves Skype. He just talks to Ireland to his folks, as he resides in the USA.
