Hardest to Find Car?

GrandTheftAuto:Rules

Lets see the Hotknife, Phoenix, Euros, Sandking, Alpha, and Super GT that I can think of

unless you put the "all cars are fast cars" cheat in tounge.gif

Hotknife and other rare cars sometimes appear during the vigilante or firefighter missions.

Sandking - spawns at The Big Ear in the desert.

Phoenix, Euros - as mentioned in previous postings.

Alpha and Super GT can be found driving around without fast cars cheat. Probably easiest to find around LV but I think I found them in early LS too.

Random traffic spawns - not just the exact same vehicle you're driving, but also vehicles of the same 'group'. If you're driving a Comet e.g., then other sports cars will appear as well.

The Doherty Towtruck, Phoenix and FCR-900 mentioned above are indeed added specials in the Chain Game, they don't appear in an unmodded game.

The Mothership, that will never spawn in traffic and was only available i think for 2 of the missions.

colgate.gif

What a shame, it was a good vehicle.

You can store it in a garage easily but it will lose its 'uniqueness' (being the paint job) quickly.

The number is also unique but it becomes mirrored when it loses the paint job.

Exaclty, it will loose the paint job, the paint job is what makes it the mothership! colgate.gif , so if you save it in your garage and it changes therefore it is not the original vehicle which makes it a rare vehicle. turn.gif

Even thou its not a car...

What about the NRG-500? I have never, ever,

seen it spawn "in traffic" during normal gameplay!

Puts it right below the Euros and Phoenix in my book. I am aware of three parked spawn locations

for it thou.

I am aware of 2 of them, the airport and docks in los santos but where is the 3rd?? suicidal.gif

The NRG will never spawn in traffic. The parked locations are 2nd/top floor in the car park in LS, SF docks and the airport.

Well… that’s kinda true… technically speaking, the NRG-500 never appears under normal conditions, but it does appear infrequently as the Suspect Vehicle in the Vigilante Missions, plus it’s used by some of the other racers in several of the Street Races where motorbikes are used… plus, all racers (except Carl) have Fireproof vehicles, which makes them unique.

Here’s a list of some of the rare vehicles that appear during the Vigilante Mission as the Suspect Vehicle (in addition to rubregg's comment):

NRG-500

Hotknife

Euros

Phoenix

Buccaneer

Bullet

Turismo

Cheetah

Super GT

Infernus

plus others…

Ok, the Phoenix is easy enough to get. You use in in a SF race mission, so you can aquire it there.

How can you keep one of the vehicles used during the street races, when after the race or by failing the race, the game takes you back to the races start menu? The only two race vehicles you get to keep, are the ones from the Missions "Wu Zi Mu" and "Farewell My Love". And when at the races start menu, if you exit out, it puts you back at the races start menu.

Start the race and drive to the Doherty garage. Park the car in and get out. After 20 seconds, you'll fail the race and CJ will appear behind Wang Autos. However, the car will still be in the garage.

I found it going along the stretch of road around the LS Forum.

I've only had it twice ever though. It is rather rare.

@radioman: Just do what girish said. Or, you can just drive it to wang autos and then fail. When you return, it will be parked right next to you. Then, you just drive around and steal other ones that appear. Now, you have 4 or 5 of one of the most rare cars in SA.

Do you know Grove St.?

Do you know the LS Forum, just East from Grove St.? The big complex which holds the 8-Track race?

I found it on the curved road the goes from the road parallel to Grove St. to Seville Boulevard territory, around the LS Forum.

Dice has the best advised when trying to acquire a vehicle from a race...

Storing a vehicle in a garage is usually good too, but you run the risk of it disappearing before you get back to the garage.... remember the two-car-rule: The game remembers the last two vehicles that Carl was occupying, then makes anything prior to that disappear... that's what can happen on the way back to the garage if you occupy more than two vehicles on the way over to the garage... even thought the vehicle is already in the garage, the game will sometimes treat it like it's one of the cars from the two-car-rule, and make it disappear.

Is there a away to make a car appear more often

Long time back, I used the rare car mod to make rare vehicles spawn as normal traffic. Give it a shot if you like.

Now Really, to me I say the alpha is the hardest to find normal car (it is a normal car, looks normal and it's not that fast)

Defenetly the manana or the buccaner. There is never one around when you are looking for it. I played sa for 2 years, when I first saw one

I may be mistaken, but don't Da Nang Boys drive mananas?

Nope, they drive Esperanto's and another car I don't remember now. And I remember finding the Manana somewhere around Doherty once.

Yes!! That is where the second spawn spot of my Manana was. Definitely hang around Doherty if you are loking for one.

Also, there is no way that the Buccaneer is a rare car. It is such a regular spawner in my game that i have just got bored and annoyed with it.

Always around Easter basin (Rifa Territory) and up to Calton Heights area.

Is there a away to make a car appear more often

Long time back, I used the rare car mod to make rare vehicles spawn as normal traffic. Give it a shot if you like.

Here's a couple things to try to make cars show more frequently... In the case of cars in general, open up the 'vehicles.ide' file and under the column Frq change the number for the vehicle you want to see more often to a higher value - 10 being the max. For the Euros and Phoenix specifically, open the 'cargrp.dat' file and search for the the line ending with #POPCYLE_CASUAL_RICH. If you check the cars on this line (in a default, unmodded file), you'll see the Euros and Phoenix are there but they're near the end of the line. This means that they were supposed to show up on the streets during a normal game but I think because of the way the game picks cars, it never makes it to the end of the list because the road's already got enough vehicles on it before it gets that far in selecting. What I discovered and tested to be true is that if you simply move the Euros and Phoenix to near the beginning of the line, you'll find they show up on the street no problem! This can be applied for other desired vehicles too.

Flesh-N-Bone: If you look into the 'cargrp.dat' file, you'll see that the Buccaneer, Manana and Tampa are listed as being cars for the Da Nang Boys. This is why you'll see these cars around Easter Basin and the Pier 69 area - because it's their turf. You can sometimes finding those cars sitting at the gas station across from the Naval base. It's the first place I ever saw a Buccaneer when I started playing.

And for my two cents, I think the rarest vehicle is the Hotknife. Virtually all others mentioned show up in the game in one way or another, whether it's a mission or a race, etc. The Hotknife ONLY shows up if you achieve all golds. And for a lot of people, getting that gold status is a difficult thing to do. Especially with the Super GT set up the way it is!

Phoenix all the way. You can only get it via a street race in San Fierro.

The Phoenix is easy to find, it spawns behind your garage in Doherty across from the tow truck spawn next to the garage. But yes, I would say the Euros is one of the hard to find vehicles, as Girishb said.

Here's a picture of it, though. user posted image

The PCJ is not a spawn, btw. Also, I tried to link to the pic. but it posted the picture instead, sorry about thebig picture.

Is that there in the PS2 version?

coz if it is, im SUCH a donut i never noticed it lol.gif

No, it is a mod on PC.

Actually, it's not a mod, it is a feature from the Chain Game, I forgot I was using the Chain Game starter save and that was a part of the save. Those are normal SA vehicles-it's just that the Phoenix has a special license plate honoring JAJ, the creator of the Chain Game.

Same sort of thing. Something that wasn't in the original game of SA.

I'd say the vehicle that I want at the time never appears but when I don't want it, it's everywhere.  dozingoff.gif

Lol, it's just like GTA IV.

Example: You want a NRG, none appears, then you hop one and the streets are full of them.

In SA, it always happens to me with DFT30s, but the strange thing is that I don't need to enter the vehicle, just jump on its back...

Checked those two files. Some things I've noticed:

-The infamous Tornado is programmed to be driven by POPCYCLE_GROUP_CASUAL_AVERAGE, by at the end of the list as well (curiously, it's just before the Euros).

-The Majestic only appears as driven by the Ballas. That means that it should never appear after you take over all of the Ballas turfs. Therefore it's even rarer than the Tornado, which at least appears on a list (according to RanxeroX's theory).

-The Taxi and the Cabbie appear at most of the lists and usually at the top. That explains why they're such common cars.
