reason why you don't buy GTA 4 pc

I am defo gonna buy this game! I had a choice, buy an xbox/ps3 or.. upgrade my PC Ppl say the game doesn't need modding but I say To hell with them! If you can mod sh!tty VC and SA to look like Gostown7 then imagine the posiblities of modding IV This site is for modders! We don't mod because we need to, we mod for the Hell of it! If you don't wanna buy IV on PC, fine! If you don't wanna mod IV get the hell off this site

Heh, youve got my sympathies on that.

 

I had the choice (and money) for an xbox aswell, but i didnt do it. So now its our turn, and the PC version of the game will open so much possebilities.

I won't be buying it, not sooner than perhaps 3 months after its release.Because:

 

1.I'm quite busy with my university studies.Programming and all...

I have to keep off gaming altogether.

 

2.My PC simply can't handle the game atm unless I shell out for a discrete graphics card as opposed to my current on-board chip.Otherwise there's not much of a problem with my PC.Maybe another module of RAM and it will pass the minimum requirements edge with ease.

When a company needs 7 months to rework the game from a console its not just a port due to popular belief.

 

They have too add more code for options, higher res textures, that alone would take this much time. Improved AI since the computer can handle it and the console cant.

 

No offence to you console guys but a updated gaming machine can run circles around your concole. Also have room left over to bake a cake.

I pre-ordered gta iv already because it is a game that is worth paying for.

I didn't buy SA on PC until almost 2 years after it came out on PS2. I've already played IV to death on PS3 anyway.

- better textures

- better frame rates

- draw distance increased

- better multiplayer , more than 16 player , added many lobby filters

- replay editor

- modding comunity (new cars , mods , tweaks , etc.)

- less bugs

Sometimes I feel if the people who made mods famous in Vice and SA will be playing this game at all. Most of them are retired, some have stopped posting. Without them, it is surely going to be lonely.

Well, i'm not saying i'm not gonna buy the game eventually, but i will not buy it on releaseday.

The reason is i already have it on Xbox360, and although i'm a PC gamer first (this is my first console since the N64) i don't really see any reason to buy it on PC too.

Sure there are better graphics in the PC version, you get the replay editor and some additional stuff to the multiplayer (32 players, filtering options).

But personally i'm not really that interested in the replay editor, and i'm not really a multiplayer guy, so that just leaves the better graphics...which i won't really get to appriciate because my computer would probably not be good enough to handle all that graphical goodness.

So i would probably just end up with slightly better graphics than the console versions, or with even more framerate issues than with the console versions.

So what's the point?

Besides i have the DLC to look forward to, and a bunch of other PC games.

 

But maybe in the future when it's time to upgrade my PC, and the price of the PC version has gone down, i might buy it and experience the better graphics.

(Although, to be honest...despite it's flaws, i think the console version looks good *hides from all the flaming*)

Aside from the "1st console since the N64" part, I agree 100%. I'm happy with my 360 version, looking to maybe grab the DLC, and my PC really won't run it. Hell, it has issues TRYING to run FEAR, so, yeah, no.....can't do it right now. Maybe when I get my new rig sometime next year.......

im hoping those legends stick to VC SA sucked and i don't see the point of modding IV, 50% of mods for other games were car mods but these cars are already HD and coding new things will take a LONG time to accomplish as well as there are only a handful a decent coders around.

That's the main problem with me my PC(laptop) won't run it very well because of a lower end graphics card(8600M GS) and I will be better off getting a console since my laptop won't be playing it at higher graphics than the console or anywheres even close. Chances are I will get it on both when I get a 360. But I will get it on PC too so I can get extra mods and stuff as well as an extra 16 players per server online(32 in one server) they will each have there own pro's and cons for me. But if you got a decent Computer you might as well just own the PC version since you will get all the nice added textures and such for the graphics options and enjoy everything at it's fullest.
