Resident Evil and Silent Hill makes me cringe, but left 4 dead doesn't really deliver that 'stop you in your tracks' kind of horror. It DOES however puts you up an agonizing fast pace of gameplay. This second you're putting up a fight against an entire horde and 2 hunters. Next second you'll be running from a tank. Nothing too scary, but really delivers a good strong adrenaline rush. I was playing on "death toll" with 3 mates, I ran ahead and I always check a small cupboard for medkits. There was a tank in there, I sh*t bricks and screamed down the mic "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCKK" I really wish someone recorded it Left 4 dead 2 seems to be more creepy, which is a good thing. I want to be scared when I play it. Other than that, left 4 dead isnt scary, just a good laugh with friends @Menaced: Im glad you like it, you got it on PC? It doesn't really scare me with suspense or tension, but sometimes when the infected suddenly run at you it can make you jump - it happened to me a few times yesterday. I found this pretty interesting (taken directly from the 28 Days Later trivia page on IMDb) The 2008 video game Left 4 Dead (2008) (VG) is almost a direct homage to this movie. Some of the most noticeable points in common are:- Referring to the "zombies" as "Infected". - The fact that the "Infected" do not eat the people they kill, they simply attack them. - The presence of apocalyptic graffiti in bold, black capital letters. - The speed at which the disease spread (14 days on Left 4 Dead, 28 days on 28 Days Later). - The general abandonment of all environments in both the movie and the game. - The speed and relentlessness with which the "Infected" move. - The presence of Molotovs and the Gas Station explosion (No Mercy campaign). - The dead bodies in Jim's house appear almost verbatim in the No Mercy campaign. - In the No Mercy campaign, the elevator at Mercy Hospital stops at the 28th floor. - Survivors move in small groups. I've never squealed so loud though - on this one bit, I was looking over the warehouse (a bit after getting on the elevator which attracts the horde) and the BWitch was sat there. I told my friends to stay cool and sneak round. So we make our way round, and seeing as I was low on health I paused to heal. Huge mistake. I accidentally flicked "up" on the D-pad and the light came on, and the Bitch started up. Sure we killed it, but what made it worse was running into a Tank straight after.. xxxSIDESH0Wxxx Posted September 18, 2009 Share Posted September 18, 2009 looks like the the Crash Course DLC will be here sometime on or before the 23rd. when i turned on my xbox today, there was a card on the dashboard promoting a "Game with Fame" with the band Paramore. The game listed was Left 4 Dead Crash Course map. Of course, i'd rather play Left 4 Dead with all my homies than Paramore. Unless of course my L4D skills impressed the singer so much, that she married me and i could somehow make her bank account MY bank account. xxxSIDESH0Wxxx Posted September 23, 2009 Share Posted September 23, 2009 ok, so this doesn't make any sense. today is the Game with Fame w/ Paramore on L4D Crash course map. however, Valve has confirmed a sept. 29th release date for the crash course DLC. so, who is going to Game With Fame on Crash Course if it's not released? are they allowing people who signed up for the GwF to download it early or are they just advertizing the fact that Paramore can play it, but you can't? wtf? ptiko Posted October 1, 2009 Share Posted October 1, 2009 The campaign is pretty good, Its a shame there's only 2 levels, but there pretty long. Its nice how there multiple routes, which is good for versus. Running via the warehouses and rooms are better than in the open streets. It sucks that none of the dedicated servers are updated in time, Me and my mates can play local okay ish. OysterBarron Posted October 2, 2009 Author Share Posted October 2, 2009 ok so i just purchased crash course last night on 360 and it has glitched my achievments, out of game its saying i have 670/1250 but ingame its saying i only have 70/1250 and acievments like the kill a smoker while being pulled by a smoker 10 times is now saying completed but the stat is at 11/10 its all messed up what the hell. At first i thought they had reset the achievments but its still reading that ive earnt some of them and others are glitched like the one i just mentioned about the smokers anyone else had this prob on the 360? Inky Posted October 3, 2009 Share Posted October 3, 2009 I'm glad I own this game on PC, because I would've considered Crash Course a waste of points if I had bought this on the Xbox. It's just too short for me to really enjoy it. Though, I have to admit for what's there it's done well. Also is anyone else getting some weird audio playing every, maybe, minute or so? On my game it's not the music (I have that turned off) but rather the SFX apparently. So when this audio plays the characters voices and everything is far quieter than they normally are and as a consequence I don't hear the tanks attack music or half the things I should be able to hear in order to alert me of zombies. OysterBarron Posted October 3, 2009 Author Share Posted October 3, 2009 yeah its all back to normal now thank god had another play last night on versus still liking these maps its quite a challenge, altthough i do agree with inky the asking price for these 2 maps is well to steep, but nevermind need my fix until left 4 dead 2 comes out and dont valve know it.
