i've voted a big metropolis but it is nice to add more landscape and long caves in the mountain so people can explore them

i really love this mod:D iv tested al the versions so far and its really getting better and better! i cant wait for the new version guys!

The limit is that we cant add more objects that are defined in the Object.dat, like streetlights, moveable objects, breakeable... etc

like, you can't add more objects to the object.dat, or can you not use any object from object.dat? like, would you be able to use items already in object.dat?

I picked better graphics. I'd like to see it done to the engine though.

 

Your choices in textures is wonderful, and I'd like to see you do something to it graphically from beyond what is seen in-game as terrain or vehicle. Something that brings this ambitious work to a new visual hieght. Like, homebrew RW upgrades or some sh*t ftw.

markiij, I think you're missing the problem. The limit problem isn't in the ID's used, but in the count limit of objects that can be defined in the object.dat.

 

So here's some questions for the Gostown dev team:

Did you succesfully replaced objects that are defined in the object.dat, or did you add objects to the allready present list. In case you added in stead of replaced, what's the limit of objects one can define in the object.dat?

Lol, I dont know how to explain. Will try to explain best: object.dat hasn't limit, just I cant place more object.dat defined objects, like placing more streetlights, etc etc etc.

 

I dont know the limit, but is something like VC props + gostown props. In the actual release you cant add more object.dat defined objects, maybe 1 or 2.

Gostown has around 150 object.dat placement (certainly less). VC has something like 2000 props.

 

That can't be a object.dat placement limit, because of the low number of it. Vegetation and palm in Gostown arn't dynamic objects, so that can't be due to Gostown. (Gostown vegetation >2000 placements)

 

There's certainly a corruption somewhere, that we'll need to sort out when building v6.

I voted a big metropolis as a city ,because thats what i think Gostown needs, it just feels a little empty when you start theres 5 buildings and no paths...

wow that looks great! its the 3rd generation isnt it?

 

and about the dynamic objects limit: with "grouping" objest i meant grabbing al streetlight in a street and make them count as just 1 object so when u want to place them you cant place 1 but only the whole street.

 

its just 1 object but with spaces between the lights. if u want to move one, all the lights will move. maybe its hard to place the object so all light fits on the edge of the street but you spend less objects:D.

 

maybe it dont work (im not a modder) but this was just my idea.

 

ps. i know my english grammar is baaad:P. (just 15jo, dutch)

Thx, markij, it can work, but would need to place 2dfx on each spotlight with scripts. The props are used because of the facility to place them everywhere. But i'm pretty sure this props problem is gonna be fixed when i'll rebuild Gostown.

I don't get it... who would want a poly-mammoth metropolis when so many bugs and lagging are meant to happen?!

landscapes would've been easy, practicable, fun, quickly updated and released... and cooooool!

caves! mountains! lakes! and miles and miles of arid desert and canyons!

Yes, path are deleted on the 0.5 version, they return in next version.

Stability issue, has been discussed alot along this topic. VCSA paths are in anyway.

That's only a showroom with V6 props, but it gives you a precise idea of what it will look like ingame.

those are sweeeeeeeeeeet, & ghostown rocks in landscape, but really add some missions, otherwise it's very empty

& get's boring very quickly, cause all it is is cruisingshould do what san vice did, no competition in landscaping, yours automatically won that, but it has challenging missions in it to keep it going for a while without bordom. so if you add scripting,

the mod will own every mod out there, just a bit of advice for the next release.

heh... are you going to go SA into Next Generation... (i know the questions is stupid) but are you going to do something with SA engine? are models will be high poly (i like plants but are every model going to look like that?) and say something about missions, where we start? and what age it wiil be?
