There's no rush for a mod like this. The developers have their own lives and they don't need to prioritise this. Quality takes time.

Today, when I was going to open the latest lot 3dmax scene, I got a 'file open error', meaning I lost the lot's scene completely (I tried to recover it but no sucess)

 

Anyway, this is enough for me... enough problems, I don't stand them anymore. Most GTA Tools sucks (No offence to their authors... but its true) most simple task in any other game that has modding supported are hard to do here. MEd crashes with Gostown, and Map IO crashes loading up gostown's DFFs (It just gives up)

 

Apart of that, there is no team now. I don't blame any of my old team members because they know what i'm talking about (the tools and problem) though back in time this was challenging, its now boring. I blame though the person that decided it was fun to enter gostown team for nothing. people that got a lot and never did anything...

 

anyway, gostown finishes, I will release the version I have now when I feel like it with the list of features that would be comming in the next version.

 

Sorry to everyone, but SA modding community is not made for big scratch made TCs, its just for VC and LC map mods, and NFS cars conversions.

 

sorry to ATP & Dutchy that joined the gostown team has coder, I couldn't give them any real job because I couldn't release an stable internal version, though you guys gave me some inspiration to try and push the mod

Well, that what you said about LC/VC and NFS car conversions, well, it's not truth, it's the most noobs can do, they can't do anything from scratch. Your work is very different. You talk about VERY lower stage of modders, while you are getting most of engine.

Well my 3ds max doesnt crashes or anything with gostown's dffs

i always loved to see the models in 3ds max to see them in wireframe i love them

you just need to wait until is loaded

I agree with you fully, Jost_Vice. GTA is a difficult game to mod thanks to Rockstar not giving modding support and the tools created aren't perfect.

Shocked to hear the news though, but you're the developer and it's up to you guys.

Hmm.. This is bad news: Gostown was one o the mods everybody was waiting for. Gostown was one of the best TC's for Gta: San Andreas, bringing some revolutionairy elements (like the graphics).

 

Though the mod isn't finished, I'm sure that you guys learnt a lot by making this mod, and I'm sure that that counts against an unfinished mod. The problems that you encountered and solved and the experience you got by this, is more worth than to finish a mod. Where you started as a modeler and could only dream of things you thought you would never be able to do, you end as someone who is experienced about modeling, modding and the details that the link between these two m-words brings: special effects, dynamic objects, vehicles etc.

Aww sad news sad.gif but i believe that TC's are pain to make

just release the stuff you guys did later i think, maybe convert some parts of the city to some small maps to put in SA smile.gif

Gostown will always be one of the best and most serious TC's ever made for SA.

Oh, i never expected this to happen. This is just weord, this is one of the great mods of San Andreas, and its a shame to see it die.

 

About the file, i once was told about some kind of programe or somthing to fix .MAX broken files. Maybe with some research you could save it. I know how this feels, it happened to me many times, but most of the time MAX had a backup copy.

 

But i also make backups every time i edit something new.

 

What will happen to the Web Site?
